My daughter and I walked into Lids to recreate a custom USMC hat — the same one I proudly got decades ago from this very store. What should’ve been a meaningful moment turned into something disappointing.
We were discriminated against. While some of the white staff were polite and helpful, it was our own Hispanic employees who treated us like we didn’t belong. They rushed us, watched us like we were going to steal something, and made us feel unwelcome — as if we were a burden just for being there.
That kind of treatment cuts deep, especially when it comes from your own people. We weren’t causing trouble — we were customers trying to honor a piece of personal history and military pride.
Discrimination has no place in any store. Lids, I hope your team reflects on this and commits to treating all customers with dignity, regardless of race or background.
If you’ve ever been made to feel like you don’t belong — I see you. We all deserve better.

Staff was not very good. They were nice but seemed a bit lazy. Some didn't know what teams belonged to cities which is honestly one of the few things you should know at a sports apparel store. Also the selection is very small at this location.

If it was all Dallas and Texas teams, that'd be fine. But they had Bears hats, Packers hats, and Vikings hats....no Lions hats. Detroit is the team this year, man. Jared Goff! Jared Goff! Jared Goff! Jared Goff!

Have more Phillies/Philadelphia teams in general!
More than 1/4 of the store is filled with Dallas teams. Not everyone here likes Dallas. Especially the Cowboys. bleh.
Need more Philly teams!

I went to the Lids store inside Northpark Mall this past Tuesday afternoon..I was the only customer when I walked in. The associate said nothing to me as if I was not there, he didn’t even ask if I need help. A male customer walked in, the associate acknowledged that male customer and still ignored me. When I was ready to checkout the items I purchased, the associate still didn’t say anything, didn’t say “Thank you” or “have a nice day.” Are these store associates trained to select which individuals to be courteous to?
