The service at this NCU is INCREDIBLE. They are so helpful and friendly. They don’t treat you special bc you have a lot of money(bc I don’t, but I still feel special) Mr. Luis is at this location and he is amazing! He is a living example of going above and beyond. Have you ever had your bank call you to help you AFTER banking hours to help you?? Me either- at least, not until NCU. This is a phenomenal bank. Don’t just shop local- BANK local too.

I have been a costumer with NCC for several years now and have not had problem until now. I contacted the Customer Service Department for a $34 fee charged to my account. I asked for a one time courtesy adjustment since there is no upfront disclosure to indicate that a fee would be charge to place a stop on a Zelle transaction. The transaction did not go through immediately. It would take 2 to 3 days. But, I was informed in a non-friendly manner no and that they did not mind losing me as a customer. I am currently closing my accounts. I do not want to do business with a company that charges extreme fees for a service that other banks or credit unions generally provide at no cost.

I recently had fraudulent activity on my checking account and went in to the Montfort branch to see what I could do. From the moment I walked in and was greeted right away by one of the tellers, to having everything wrapped up and taken care of, I was SO impressed!! I want to give a special shout out to Louie, who handled all of my concerns with such care and attention to detail, for taking such good care of me. He even made sure I got a cookie on my way out! I am very, VERY impressed. Thank you so much, Neighborhood Credit Union!!

I recently applied for a checking account at Neighborhood Credit Union, seeking convenience due to its proximity to my new city residence. However, the experience turned out to be disappointing and frustrating.Despite having long-standing accounts with other major credit unions and banks without any issues, I was unexpectedly denied for the Cash Back Checking account. Instead, Neighborhood Credit Union offered me a Fresh Start Checking account which comes with a $20 monthly fee, supposedly for individuals needing to prove their financial reliability. This was bewildering as my credit and banking history, verified through appropriate systems, demonstrate my reliability without a doubt.The manager, after some delay, informed me they could not disclose the reasons for my denial, citing privacy policies. This lack of transparency about their approval process and the insinuation that I needed to prove my ‘credit worthiness’ over six months felt insulting. It seemed as if they were questioning my financial management without any valid reason. It’s worth noting that this decision came from corporate, not a local branch, which suggests a systemic issue within the organization.The entire ordeal has left a sour taste, and it’s clear their processes lack the transparency that should be standard in financial services. Their website doesn’t accurately reflect the hoops one might have to jump through, which is misleading.I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience to inform others. I will not be applying at this credit union again, and I advise potential customers to look for institutions that value and respect all clients equally. This one certainly did not meet that standard in my case. And, from the looks of the other negative comments about this company. I dodged a bullet!

Service is going downhill fast. Been a member for 15+ years and still can't mobile deposit a check without the operational support saying it's fraudulent and freezing all atm deposits until i come to the monfort location. I was understanding in the past, but now its annoying. I have to drive 40 minutes out of my way to present check and my ID. As a loyal member i expected more. Quite disappointed in myself for using their service for so long. Truly unfortunate

I did not look at the reviews of this credit union before I became a member, I should have. save your time and money and put it elsewhere anywhere else. Since I have been a member, I have had my Zelle privileges frozen from Zell to my wife. I have had fees for not having electronic statements which I’m Sure I signed up for. i’ve had checks held for seven days and I’ve had overdraft that I paid off immediately because it was an accident (used wrong card) come to find out I was charged 35 dollars I’ve never seen such a fast overdraft fee usually you have till the end of the day to pay it off. For a non profit institution they sure are making profit by nickel and dime’ing their members. Please read the reviews before trusting them to handle your money!!!!!! Will be switching institutions asap.

I am not happy with this credit union, they merged with my Old credit union which I was a customer for 25 years, so I was kind of automatically enrolled in neighborhood. I was told everything would be the same but it wasn't at all. Nothing was explained to me, and when I asked them to send me a check from my account they said there would be a 13$ charge. Can't wait to pay off my car loans and get rid of this credit union. When you call on the phone to find some information you get an automated system that is terrible. Takes a long time to actually get a person on the phone. Much different from my old credit union that was fantastic.

I've been using NCU for many years now, and they've been the most helpful financial institution I have ever used. I never have the sense of a predatory entity like the corporate monster banks. Everything is always fair, and they seem to put the customer first. My credit score is finally where it needs to be, and I don't think I could've done it without them.

After this situation I will be closing my account. This branch allowed fraud into my account. This is highly frustrating and ridiculous. I do not live on that side of town and somehow they were still able to let someone steal from my account.

I recently had fraud on a debit card that was lost/stolen and because I am a previous employee they are wanting me to go the extra mile just to file a dispute. I had to call just to make sure they even got the dispute from the 3rd party card processing company they use, but they never sent over my dispute. when they finally start working the dispute they require me to go out of my way and visit a branch. Also tells me to file a police report which is not standard I do either of those requirements. I have requested multiple times to have the account shut down and they refuse. Customer Service does not set an example of the "we care" motto they use. instead while you're already frustrated they add fuel to the fire. Wouldn't have chosen to bank here on my own! Take your money else where it's not worth the hassle they give if you have any issues with your account/debit card.

Worst credit union EVER! Beware.Going downhill fast. Outsourcing calls to call inadequate centers with language barriers. Closing ATMs permanently. No more personal loans. Inconvenient business hours. Closed on weekends.Terrible phone prompts, not user friendly at all. It just send you in circles when trying to get a real person other than a Mexican call center. Nothing against Mexico. Just terrible credit unions that Masquerade as legitimate financial institutions.
