An excellent experience from/with Kayla at this location! I accidentally booked my truck for 8:30pm instead of 8:30am. Kayla immediately helped me fix this, and turned what could have been a stressful situation into a great experience! I will definitely rent from this location again! Thank you, Kayla!

As I write this review, I'm most concerned about what UHAUL has become. Mr. Joe Schoen has worked hard over the years to build his brand. This is my honest review of my experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐Mr. Krawford was extremely patient and professional at that location.
Who is the regional manager?
I reserved a 10' truck at a UHaul location closer to the Dallas Love Field Airport. (at 9929 Harry Hines Blvd.) UHaul CS sent me to this location. It is farther away.
Pick up On Thursday 4/4/24, all rental cars were sold out due to the eclipse event. Airports were overcrowded with arrivals. This truck was the only option to get back to the west coast.
The TRUCK:
Minus 0 stars for the truck. 1st impression: I noticed how dirty the exterior was. THE WINDSHIELD, WINDOWS AND MIRRORS were cruddy. When customers drive a UHAUL truck, they are promoting Mr. Schoen's brand.
Driving from Dallas to Plano, Texas, I had to pull over. Issues:
A. Whether driving or idling, there is an AUDIBLE constant popping/thud sound on the right and the right underneath. It's more noticeable when stopping at a traffic light.
B. With the TOW LIGHT OFF, the tires vibrate and the truck BOUNCES as if that light is on. To stop the bouncing, you have to drive less than 40mph. UHaul gave 7 days to reach the destination. Not at 40mph.
C. I've been a customer for over 10 years. This is definitely the worst truck I've driven. This truck, you have to release the parking brake. The parking brake appears to be inoperable. I'm afraid to touch it. Photo attached.
D. On day two, there was no windshield fluid. That should have been topped off.
E. It seems as if the sun visors are a replacement. They don't fit the holders and hang off when in use. This prevents sun block while driving.
F. If I reverse before parking, the reverse view remains in the rear view mirror seconds before releasing.
G. Three separate occasions, I applied the brakes, the truck skidded. No rain. Full sunshine days.
H. The driver seat is broken and does not lift up. No cushion. I sit on a FOLDED Sleeping Bag. Not comfortable for a one way drive.
10 years with UHAUL. Never had an issue with equipment. This 10' truck is also a gas guzzler.
Who is responsible for maintenance between reservations?
When I pulled over in Plano, I contacted roadside assistance. They wanted to dispatch a mechanic from FRISCO, in AM rush hour traffic mixed with ECLIPSE TOURIST TRAFFIC. It would take less time to take the truck to the nearest UHAUL location, let their mechanic look at it.
Finally, I don't talk or text while driving. On Saturday 4/6, I received a text from UHaul advising me to call customer service. No voice prompts represented why I was calling. When I got though to customer service, they advised to call roadside.
A hamster wheel. Unresolved.
UHaul wants you to waste your time after they give you specified miles and days to reach your destination. I should not have to worry about equipment safety. That should be their priority.
Disappointing and frightening.
Drop off conflicts. I didn't agree with the drop off location. Was advised to drop off at any UHAUL location. Then CS said, "UHaul determines the drop off based on where the equipment is needed." What
about Customer convenience?
Customers should Test Drive before paying.

The location was close to the storage unit I needed it for and the sales person was very nice. However, the truck had mechanical issues and wouldn't start right away. I was also OVER CHARGED for both the mileage and gasoline. I returned the truck with the same amount of fuel, but they charged me. When I was renting the truck, they said to over-estimate the mileage and they would refund the excess if it was under what I estimated. I said to put 40 miles on it, which is what they charged me for. I only drove 24 miles. I never received the refund. As a matter of fact, I received an additional charge to my card. Now I am having to waste time trying to straighten this all out...for a truck that took about 10 tries to get it started.

ZERO STARS!I had previously gone to this location a week or so back to book a truck for a couple of hours. Kayla refused to give me any of the trucks even though she had no appointments for that same day! After back and forth arguments, she refused to give me any of the trucks and I left.For this booking I had an online booking done and she cancelled my reservation without asking me and made a reservation for me in CARROLTON based on our previous interaction. I asked to speak to the supervisor and she refused to call him as well. I called customer service to connect me to this location’s supervisor. When the supervisor (Gayle) answered, he refused to hear my side of the story and sided with this lady and told me to leave the location or else he would call the police for trespassing. Important to mention that I had an online reservation AND HE WAS ACCUSING ME OF TRESPASSING? To make this even worse he placed me on the cautionary list!I left and as I was about to drive away I received a call from this location to come back inside and take the truck which i had booked. Kayla had no remorse for her behavior and to top it off left the keys outside for me to pickup. I have never seen bad customer service supported by a business like this ever.I work with U haul very often but safe to say i will not be going to this location. Everyone should go to the one on Northwest Hwy. The people over there are friendly and my man Andre always makes sure I get the best service everytimeIf my behavior needs any verification you can ask the people at Northwest Hwy with whom i work multiple times a month. Andre and team will definitely tell you a different story than Kayla would.

I would give zero stars if that was an option here. DO NOT GO HERE! Kayla is the worst person ever. She discriminates between her customers. I had a white lady in front of me on this day and she was super sweet with her. The minute it was my turn her expressions were different and dealt with me rudely.

The place was open, but a sign on the door said call this number as no one was in the store. Upon calling the number the guy told me to come back in 30 minutes. Interesting way to do business. I suggest to pass this one by and go to the bigger one 1/2 mile up the street!!
