Words can not express my disappointment after referring a friend to Shell FCU for a mortgage. After getting the details of my friends visit, I found the SFCU behavior unprofessional and inexperienced. My aunt retired from Shell in Deer Park, lived in the area, and prior to her death, kept all her funds with SFCU. I would remind SFCU that everyone has a boss or is regulated by the NCUA, and that will be my next contact with the details. Clearly their is a big problem at SFCU based on these reviews, so time for oversight is overdue. What an embarrassing situation for me and my Aunt would have removed her money immediately and shared her concerns at the refinery. Shame on yall!

Customer service has gone completely down the toilet in the last year or two, and the dispute department is the absolute worst. If you're ever in a position where you may need to dispute a charge because the merchant didn't provide the product that you paid for, don't use your Shell debit card. They'll just tell you that there isn't anything they can do (which is 100% inaccurate) and that it's a legal matter which you need to pursue on your own. As if they expect you to take Google or Amazon to small claims court.

Literally the worst bank! I always have problems with this branch (Deer Park). I can go to any other branch and they treat me well and help me as needed.I’ve had enough with DP branch, I went in to deposit/cash a check (which was their check) and I was waiting for a good 10mins for the young lady to figure out about cashing it. Then she comes back and says she has to put a hold on it. When I told her why it’s y’all’s check she and other employees laughed about the situation. I’m honestly not too sure what was so funny. I don’t know who they have running this branch, but their needs to be better staff training and better management!

After working with a few financial advisors from the Shell Wealth Services division, I’m extremely dissatisfied with the lack of knowledge and professionalism that I received. I have been less than satisfied with the assistance provided by the Shell team. My original advisor, Alicia, gave me incorrect information on advisor fees when they switched brokerages, she also told me that my account wouldn’t be affected by the transition, when my account actually went from a managed account to an unmanaged one, yet I was still paying brokerage fees, and lastly she provided me with the information on a CD, that cost me thousands of dollars. The most infuriating part is there was not accountability and no remorse. She literally kept repeating, I was told the wrong information. If my company provided me with incorrect info, multiple times, I would want to address that. That was not the case with Alicia, she told me that maybe I should get another advisor. I brought it up to her manager, and he apologizes and says that any other brokerage firm would love to have my portfolio. My current advisor, Justin, who I have only spoken to twice, in both conversations lied to me. I genuinely can't understand why, especially when they are working with my hard-earned money. On our first call he asked me how to pronounce my name, and then asked me was Latrill my last name. I told him no and I was about to let him know that that was my middle name, but instead he apologies and says that he had been working with another LaKeysha, and had the wrong name up. It makes no sense that he would lie about something as trivial as that. In that same call I specifically told him that I was interested in shorter term CDs ,anywhere from 3 months to 12 months and he proceeded to give me 13 months ,18 months, and 24 months options. A few days later, he calls to say that he was going to present me with options but didn't know what I wanted to do, but I literally already provided that information, but he just wasn’t listening. My even bigger issue is that my CD was supposed to close on the 29th of last month and it did not. When I brought this to his attention, and he told me that CDs can't be closed on a Friday. I knew that that was not truthful when he told me but I called Ameriprise for verification. They let me know that you could have closed out the CD up until 6 PM that night. In addition to not closing my CD when I specifically asked multiple times, he sent the returns to the wrong account. I specifically told him that I don't bank with that institution because they are just so far away from me. He then tells me that was the only account available, another lie. I personally verified that I have other accounts available as well as an Ameriprise employee, but even if he didn’t have the correct account information, he could have simply asked me for the correct info. I will not work with someone who cannot be truthful and to be completely transparent I will be following up with an official complaint as well as speaking to my lawyer.

Very poor communication. I came in today because I was advised over the phone on Friday, that I would need to visit a branch to follow-up on my new membership application. Was assisted by Zoe when I came in to the branch, she was adamant that she spoke with me over the phone, stating we had discussed that they would be only opening a savings, and that I would need two forms of ID and proof of address. I was baffled throughout the conversation, until she stated that we discussed about using auto insurance bill as proof of address.I explained to her that, that conversation did not occur with whomever I spoke with over the phone the day prior.I agree credit unions offer great rates, but it’s very saddening these credit unions like to boast about providing exceptional service when it clearly the opposite most of the time. Will be taking my business to the competition in the area, just wasted my time and gas coming here.

Ridiculously slow and this is why I’m pulling my money checking and savings and going to discover that matches the 1% and gives me 5% on my checking see ya! Hope you can keep up the payments on all the new construction when your left without customers :(

Since becoming a member this year, I have been very happy with this institution. Every interaction has been very positive and their staff has always bent over backward to assist in any way possible. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Angelica who treated me like a priority with rapid responses and great information to get my applications approved and processed with very little lag time. I cannot recommend this credit union enough.

Disappointed in this institution. I deposited my own personal check of 1100 from another institution and was placed on a 7 DAY HOLD.I have what I thought built a relationship with this institution having a vehicle loan, credit card, personal checking & savings. The balance of about 7x to cover this check, that should be enough. But you’re telling me that MY personal check, under MY name is a risk to your institution so you have to place it on a 7 DAY HOLD. I don’t need the money its the fact that I’m not valued as a member and I’m seen as a risk.

I’ve always used the courtesy pay which comes in handy when I need it. I’ve always paid it back on time but ONE TIME I paid it like a day or 2 late I get threatened with shutting down my checking account and then they took it away from me putting me on 60 day probation! I’ve always called them to let them know it’ll be paid. Was always transparent with them! I have a steady job steady income every 2 weeks my checks deposit. Yet I’m punished for being a little late and stripped of that offer! Stay away from this bank not who they used to be! I’ll be looking for another bank!

Referred my fiancé to Shell Federal Credit Union and Daniella Garza (loan officer) was so rude to me In her office and so stand offish almost regretted referring him here…. I didn’t feel like a respected customer after I’ve had an account here for over 10yrs.
