Went in to buy my granddaughter a pair of boots, I went to a couple other shoe stores first but JCPenney's had the best selection and I bought them there

Men’s clothing is lacking and online prices are better than in-store.

I don't use my JC Penny credit card that much because the closest store is 20 miles away. But every time I do, so much time has elapsed, and I always have to be put on the phone with customer service. Other than that, fantastic service and great pricing on jeans. And their jeans last longer than anyone else's.

Way understaffed and waited in line for a bit because 1 employee stopped running the register which left 1 running the register while there was aline backed up to check out.

I am posting this review on behalf of my daughter!!!Her family is military active duty. They just transferred from Germany a few months ago to del Río Texas .She had a hard time finding a job because she is not bilingual, apparently, this is a requirement in del Río Texas because it’s so close to the border with Mexico. She finally found a temporary job at JCPenney/ Sephora. She was hired as a temp but then was offered a permanent position the week of Christmas. She was then called into the Sephora managers office on December 30th and because she was not signing up enough customers for the JCPenney credit card she was let go.Apparently this is a JCPenney requisite to be able to maintain your job.You must request / offer customers sign up for debt so JCPenney can make money with interest on every customer purchase. She did not meet the goal hence her dismissal. This policy came from the higher ups in the company…. Juan Torres the store manager and Christy the area manager.I will note that my daughter never called in or was late for her shifts , she is very responsible, especially since they count on her income to feed the family. She called in on December 31st for the first time because my oldest granddaughter had to travel to Colorado and flights were canceled due to weather but informed her manager of the situation.Nevertheless, she was terminated and told it was because she wasn’t meeting the JCPenney criteria of signing up customers for the JCPenney credit card which was a requirement to be able to maintain her job.How sad that people are treated this way by a Company that has been around forever and that our service members and their families are treated in such a way when they depend on the income to take care of their families!!!I called JCPenney corporate to express my disappointment in the treatment and policies they have in place but was given the round a round.I hope my post brings awareness to the policies of JCPenney and the treatment of employees and I also hope this changes. Compassion for others and not the bottom dollar should definitely come first!!!Sincerely, Marlene Ponce de León
