Stripes is a large travel stop located near the Mexico border, catering to both regular travelers and truck drivers. It features ample parking for about 20 rigs, a CAT scale, and separate diesel pumping facilities for semis. The stop offers a taco bar that receives positive mentions, although the restrooms could be cleaner, with some facilities out of order. While the prices may be slightly higher compared to nearby options, the friendly staff and the convenience of filling up before crossing into Acuña make it a popular choice. Although some reviews note a decline in cleanliness and maintenance since its earlier days, Stripes remains a well-known spot for travelers heading to Mexico, with its unique offerings like Peach Nehi and Pineapple Nehi drinks.
Food is great only for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is mostly miss instead of hit or miss. Either the dinner is old or there's none at all. Showers are way way out of date. 1st time I ever felt the same before and after the shower.
