I had the worst experience with a return from 13MAY2025 on a laptop today 25JUN2024 at the Denton Best Buy.
The issue was that the "GeekSquad Tech" said that the GPU was missing and my refund was reversed and I found out after noticing my best buy credit card still had a bill. The store could've simple called me back to handle the issue but I had to come into the store and show the geeksquad rep and manager on how to open Armory Crate and change an Asus laptop from Eco mode to Standard so that the dedicated RTX 4090 will show up in windows. Like come on; I thought geeksquad repair computers; so they should know how to properly check in the BIOS the specs of a computer; which was clearly pointed out.
So after showing the geeksquad rep and the manager Caleb the laptop GPU was working just fine I did get an apology from the geeksquad representative that handled the return and the manager Caleb was like "ok give him his refund".
So Caleb and the geeksquad rep went in the back I am assuming to box everything up and process the return as it should have been over a month ago, but came out moments later to say a refund cannot be processed nor can they return the laptop to me because its a situation with loss prevention.
This was due to me saying I am going to seek legal representation due to being embarrassed and marked as a fraudulent return because of the untrained geeksquad rep.
The manager Caleb was very unprofessional and denoted me as fraudulent and I think he tried to tell whomever he was on the phone with that the store made a mistake but it was not that easy to go back on his word.
I don't want to play the race card but I do believe things may have been handled a lot differently if.........

Was going to pick up my order at the store but they wouldn't let me pick it up until I paid for it. Even though I had a Best buy card the online payportal was broken so I couldn't pay for it. Ended up having to go shopping for it then pay for it after I found it.

So frustrated dealing with the store . They promised to deliver my tv by a certain day.. they failed to keep their promise . Manager even came and couldnt even discount the aternative that they offered to deliver a few days later .spent time driving up and down trying to get my issue resolved.
You can do better Best buy

I went into this location tonight to buy a new laptop I had been looking at as well as look at some of the switches they offered. Christian helped me find which laptop I wanted and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He answered every question I had and was able to help me find everything I needed with amazing customer service! This was a great experience and I will definitely come back here again!

Worst experience ever using their Geek Squad. They had good prices on the products, but you can't get help with set up. They farm it out to 3rd party companies that never show up.

Update: the manager resolved my issue cordially! I gladly spent the money and am thankful I can get my work done more efficiently which was the goal. I will likely go back for the desktop and the iPhone. Definitely a great manager.
I am writing this review at the store on the m3 laptop. I have literally been standing here trying to buy this laptop for 15 minutes and even went to the guy in the front of the store and asked him to get someone to help me. He paged someone apparently. The sales guy who was talking to an older couple - literally just now ended their conversation without even making a sale with them and now I have no idea where he is. I have over $1k to spend here but I guess it's not worth his time. I also talked to someone last Friday who quoted me $1,081.43 for the m3 laptop w/ tax and I told him I would transfer the money from my bank account which would take a few days to clear and that I would come back. I have waited all week for this laptop. Now the price is $100 more and I am still writing this review in their store which shows you how blind their sales team is. I hope this review makes someone laugh today because I am certainly am not.
