Heading back to this cozy little bookstore is always a treat. Tucked away among shelves full with used books, VHS's and collector's toys. With no real intention of buying anything, I found myself drawn to their impressive selection of collector's toys, especially the nostalgic Jurassic Park ones, which, upon some research, I discovered were from the year 2022. The quality was unmatched, and it was clear these toys were special. My son, equally enthralled by the dinosaur toys, couldn't contain his excitement. But when we discovered a broken leg on one of them, the woman at the front desk saved the day. She even gave us a discount and hunted down the missing piece, going above and beyond to help. Back home, with a makeshift bandage, our dino toy was good as new. And knowing that the resale value of $70 for the 9" T. rex would contribute to supporting such a charming bookstore made it even more worthwhile. Huge thanks for the stellar service and understanding, especially during our son's mini meltdown. This bookstore not only offers a treasure trove of goodies but also top-notch customer care. Can't recommend it enough - you never know what gems you'll stumble upon!

One of my favorite stores in Denton! The employees are friendly. Though primarily used books, Recycled always has a great selection. You could spend hours browsing. I always stop by if I'm grabbing a coffee from Jupiter House. Though my record buying days are over for the most part, they also have a great selection of records and CDs. Their merchandise always looks fantastic; I don't know who designs the shirts but I always love them and have several! One of my favorite aspects of Recycled is that they support local artists and display their merchandise in the store. A must visit in Denton!

Not a great place to sell your collection. Will only get about 10 cents per movie.

It had been a number of years ... ok I'll have to admit about 10-15 years since I had found myself in this area with enough time to give a proper walk thru of Recycled Books. We found ourselves with a Friday off, with a kiddo on break, so we made a day of coming back over here to explore. My kiddo loved that there was so many corners and places to explore to find more books. If I didn't have my kiddo we could have easily spent an hour or so just trying to look at everything. We were able to find a few things to bring home during our visit. I had decided to bring in my old paperback wish list, a list of books that I had made from a book Grady Hendrix put out about old books from around the 60's-80's ... Staff was friendly and willing to help, by showing me to the sections that the books likely would be in if they have them, but they let me know they didn't have any sort of computer system to be able to look up stock to see if they had any of them. So, my one tip would be to see if they could invest in something like that, possibly tied to their intake at the buy counter.

I can't believe I've lived here for a year and a half and no one told me about this place! I have to be careful because I know it's gonna be large chunks of money fleeing from my bank account. And when I say large, I mean everything in there is really well priced. But I have a thing for antique, first edition, signed, what have you books. And then a whole bunch of others that cost a few dollars. The staff are wonderful ! And oh my God, the store itself !!! It is so funny and interesting-the decorations and Lil funny things on the walls and the window art etc. This is my favorite bookstore in a collection of four nationwide !

Recycled Books & Records, which firmly anchors the downtown Denton square, in the north east corner, formerly the township of Denton's opulent 1800s Opera House finds new purpose as a budget friendly second hand book, records, and CDs store, serving as Denton's cross roads purveyor of literature and music. I think I still have memories of getting stuck upstairs, looking at albums from my 60 years of life. If you have never been to Denton, this is the best place to start a self guided tour! Cheers, Mark F.

Fun used bookstore with tons of character on the historic Denton courthouse square. Service was friendly. Street parking can be in short supply but there are couple free parking lots nearby. Selection is random but wandering around the stacks here is your real goal here. Vinyl records and dvds available as well. I will be back!

This used to be one of my regular stops whenever I come to Denton square and lately it's become overpriced and the staff has gotten ruder. They've got some new games in which would be awesome if they weren't priced well over their actual worth (ex. They have tears of the kingdom priced at $70 brand new but you can get the exact same game brand new at Walmart for $58. the game was $60 upon release.) im talking to my partner about how crazy the price is when a member of staff walks by and says "if it helps, these are brand new" and I respond, "I know but it's cheaper brand new at Walmart this is too high." She gave me a look and walked off which I can understand since my response wasnt necessary but its just crazy to charge more than its retail price. And conveniently almost immediately after, They approached us telling us that we have to turn in our bags at the front. After we'd looked around for awhile. Strange. I've never been asked to turn in my bag on the many visits I've been here, and it's not the rule that's the issue. After my many years of retail experience I know why rules like these exist, I just leave the store since I'm not comfortable with anyone holding onto my purse. So since I already had what I was planning to purchase, I just decided I'd check out and leave instead. The man at the register then tries to explain the rule and I told him, "I understand the rule I'm just not comfortable with it so I'll pay and go" to which he kept telling me "then just leave your stuff at home. If you don't want to do it then leave your stuff at home." Sir it's my purse. Im not criticizing your rule(which has never once been enforced since I had never heard of this nor have been told in any of my previous visits) I just don't want to participate in it due to my own comfort levels. Mind you I just wanted to finish my transaction and leave BUT HE WOULDNT STOP REPEATING HIMSELF. I HEARD YOU, I WANT TO LEAVE BUT YOURE NOT LETTING ME. I don't appreciate being held hostage just to get the same thing repeated at me over and over again and then he had the nerve to ask me in a condescending manner "you okay?" Sir I've had to listen to you repeat yourself when I just want to pay and leave. I'm not okay and I would like the interaction to END. and as I'm leaving HE REPEATS HIMSELF AGAIN AS IF IM STAYING ANY LONGER! This is not the bookstore I used to visit as a denton square staple, and I won't be returning if this is what they deem acceptable for prices and how they treat their customers.

I can always find what I didn't know I was looking for here. Located conveniently on the square, it's a mix of all music media, plus some video media, too! I found my favorite long-sleeve shirt here, off a one-off rack, plus a handful of records. I love the character of the space(s), ramps spread up and down the different separated areas, and you can tell it's a well-loved atmosphere filled with previously well-loved quality garb. The people are top-notch, too. Your classic Denton, TX feel, through and through. Oh! Buy a branded Recycled Books shirt and wear it next time you come in for a discount! What a great deal!

My wife and I love this location. Looking for an obscure book you can't find anywhere else? Yes? You should be able to find it here. They also sell some video game things, board games, and a host of random items. This is also an awesome location for pictures. My wife has lived in Denton her entire childhood and this is one of those locations that is a staple for Denton.
