“Long post but I swear it's worth it. I feel super compelled to tell you about something that is INCREDIBLE that I discovered by accident. I promise you this is truly the best pet parent tip you'll probably ever get. When we were considering adopting this former stray, I was concerned because we had always adopted older dogs and never had a puppy. I wanted to make a plan for his every need. I called our vet just to get a ballpark on what the expense would be to get him all 3 rounds of shots and get him neutered. I was shocked when they told me that his first round of shots would be $400. JUST the first set. Then, to have him neutered would be an additional $500-$600 and even more if I wanted him to get pain meds! (Like who would put a dog through surgery and not make sure they were comfortable afterwards?!) I didn't know any better and almost bit the bullet and went with our usual vet. SO HAPPY I DIDN'T! I just happened to check to see if the cost would be the same at other vets in town and was BLOWN AWAY when I came across Texas Coalition For Animal Protection. (They have locations all over.) For ALL 3 rounds of shots, microchipping, and neutering with pain management after, THEY ONLY CHARGED $150. $150 TOTAL FOR EVERYTHING!! And they have great reviews. We have had 4 vet visits with them and I'm over the moon happy with every single person that we've met and the care they provided my Banner baby every single visit. They also offer ridiculously low rates for your dogs & cats to get their annual vaccinations, dental cleanings, and heartworm testing/preventative. (I mean, less than $75!) Look them up. I sincerely cannot say enough good things about them! Most affordable and the most wonderful service for the State of Texas. Donate if you can! They're remarkable!!”

“This place has a nice area where you can hang out, have coffee ,and get a healthy lunch. The drinks and food are pretty good and your patronage helps to feed those in need of help in the community . I particularly enjoyed my cold glass of rosemary, mint iced tea The staff is super friendly and helpful. Even if you're not a local you will feel like one there. The Dapper Cafe /The Awareness Project is an asset to the community. I highly recommend.”

“This is one of the best USOs I've ever been to. It makes layovers in DFW all the more tolerable. They have a large area with rooms to temporarily store your bags, a dark room to rest or sleep, a children's room, a cafe area where you can get coffee, sodas, snacks, chips. At times, they do offer hot dogs and other small meals.Before you leave, please do thank all these volunteers and donate if you cam.”

Outdoor concerts and movies on the lawn, an awesome 3 story library, coffee shops, great restaurants and cafes with patios, craft breweries and tap houses, pubs/bars, shops, theatre, an art museum, and retro arcade...just to name a few. Walk-ability is great too. Favorite place to meet up with friends. Great people, great vibe. Proud to call Arlington home.”

“I stopped in today on a workout and upon entry I noticed how clean the facility was! The men’s locker room was clean, including the shower and toilet area. More gyms can take a lesson on cleanliness less from YMCA!The location have a wrap around track on the second floor that is perfect for walking but not running so much. The cardio machines are all on second floor and they are limited and the main floor all have their free and machine weights, basketball and spin room. They have to have a nice variety of weights but limited number of weights and machines so on a busy day, you may have to workout between your mates.The hours of operation is limited to 8-9pm and some locations closed on Sunday which is disappointing because if I tend to workout mostly in the late evenings. The only hinder from a 5 star are the hours and limited machines and weights. Nice gym and child care options but if you tend to workout early or late in the evenings, YMCA may not be the best option.”

“First time here and got the care I needed all in one day. Of course I showed up with all my documents they requested and it was such a breeze. Dr Josh did my tooth extraction and talked me through everything which I love. The dental assistants were great and very professional. I will certainly be back for routine dental care. Great place if you don’t have any dental insurance. Highly recommend”

“My daughter is always sad when her week of camp comes to an end. This past Friday she got in the car at pickup and sounded down. I asked her what was wrong and she said “I’m just sad that camp is over. Will you sign me up again for next year?” Of course I will! Her week at Camp Thurman is the sleep she gets all summer cause she is so worn out at the end of each day. Despite the temps of 104-107 she never got a sunburn. They ensured all the kids safety with reapplying sunscreen. Pickup and drop off are extremely efficient despite the amount of kids they have attending!”

Got a lot of food; much more than we thought we would. It is Christian based but no pressure to come to church or anything. As we were leaving they welcomed us back any time. “Well so far my experience was decent, the crosswalk guy and kid directing traffic where you donate, great help and such good manners and polite and helpful and courteous. But then a lady with really short hair and glasses and short came out and she was kinda rude when I explained what I was there for and got told to pull in round about there and she goes and walks off while I was still speaking and asking a question because I'm not from arlington and I don't know my way round there, the kind black young man that was walking with this lady turned and paused and actually listened to my question and gave me directions of where I could go which I greatly appreciate his help. The lady was rude and acted snobbish and Luke she didn't care at all and seemed bossy. That's not a good attitude to have round the holidays and at a church type function or where people take their family's for assistance. If she thinks she's to good for the job or just doesn't like being there (the impression that was put off) then she should go work somewhere else. Out of the 5 people that was there that I encountered she was the ONLY ONE with a bah humbug attitude! I left disappointed due to her fasaude and demeanor. "Ms Scooge" it wouldn't kill you to smile or treat people respectful as I used my manners to you being you are an elder, you should treat people with respect as well as they do unto you. Hope you ma'am have a Merry Christmas and you lighten up and quit putting off that aura of being stuck up! You are not better then anyone else, God created us equal as the son suffered and endured for all our sins beforehand. God bless you!”
