“My recent visit to the Shell on Helms Trail was largely positive, offering a convenient break right off the I-20. This particular Shell station isn’t overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle you find at other stops, which is a refreshing change. The atmosphere is what you'd hope for - a place that serves not just as a pit stop for fuel but also as a quick rest area.One of the highlights of this location is the inclusion of a Subway within its premises. It’s a great option to have for those looking to grab a bite without losing much time on the road. The ability to fuel both your vehicle and yourself in one spot is definitely a plus in my book.However, not everything was smooth sailing. An unexpected hiccup occurred when we tried to pay at the pump, and were prompted with a message to "See Cashier." Upon entering, we were met with a less-than-enthusiastic cashier. Despite our explaining the situation, prompted by the pump's instruction, the cashier seemed noticeably bothered by our need to pay inside. His demeanor did cast a slight shadow over what was otherwise a seamless experience.Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience remains positive. The station's location, combined with its amenities, makes it a worthwhile stop for travelers on the I-20 looking for a quick refuel and refresh. It’s my hope that our interaction was an isolated incident and not reflective of the general customer service. I’d still recommend this Shell station for those passing through, but perhaps a little more cheer from the staff could make it an even better experience for everyone.”

“The store is clean, well stocked & they do an admirable job managing the flow of customers swiftly to keep wait times down. Employees are always polite. Frozen drinks are normally available as well as snacks & lots of different beers. You will find a pretty long line during more busy times & it is hard to get in & out of the parking lot at those times. For example, right after work or Friday & Saturday night.”
