The Gladney Center for Adoption is a beautiful place with caring, compassionate individuals who genuinely want to make a difference. For over 135 years, Gladney has been a pioneer in adoption services, focused on its mission to improve the lives of children, adoptive families, and birth parents. It believes every child deserves a loving family. The center provides a great resource through its AdoptEd curriculum for Child Development and Family and Consumer Science classes. The program is very informative and positive, easy to navigate, and offers awesome teacher support. It creates great discussion opportunities and engages students with accurate information about how adoption actually works. Students on field trips learn about the ins and outs of adoption through a hands-on simulation, like building profiles, and hear from adoptive parents. The presentation is interactive, allowing students to ask a lot of questions about the adoption process and the jobs at the center. It is a highly recommended experience for all high schools.
The AdoptED courses through the Gladney Center are a great addition to the parenting units in Child Growth & Development courses! They provide tremendous information and allow students to better understand adoption.

The presentation was very informative and positive. I, as well as the students, learned that most of information you hear on tv is not accurate and not how adoption actually works. I highly recommend the program and presentation for all high schools.
