“Esoteric, indeed! A fun stop in Galveston even for the non-witchy visitors. Plenty of interesting things to see besides books including cases of skulls, rocks and minerals, all kinds of figures from myth and legend, herbs and candles, beautifully crafted leather items, and sarcastic signs / decor. I believe the reviews about being strict with minors, bordering on unwelcoming to them, as the owner took extra notice of anyone with kids. I’m guessing there might have been problems with damage from kids left unattended, and it’s left a little overcorrection- I’d just suggest keeping them close!”

“February 25, 2022 went to the college this afternoon for a cooking class sponsored by the college and our farmers market. Tonight, a local teacher here in Galveston that is from southern India taught us to make 3 courses of their cuisine. Class took place in the culinary school and we got to eat what we cooked and it was fabulous. The college is cute, well maintained and offers a lot of courses for a junior college”
“Nice place with an iconic store front. Lots of books in tight, but navigable, rows. There's a mezzanine accessible by stairs with a decent selection of sci-fi.The religion section is not useful. It's mostly self-help style books or cult works. Very few actual theology or doctrine works.However the history selection is great and includes regional Texas books you may not find in many other places.”
