The location is no more than 6 minutes from restaurants, stores, and the beach. The staff is all very friendly. Rooms have full kitchens with full size refrigerator, cabinet space, season rack, and a 2 burner glass stove. Service is also great. It's quiet and a place that will make you feel at home. They also have a really nice pool with sunchairs as well as tables and a hot tub.

Stopped in to rent a room with 2 beds and one pet. After paying we went to the room to inspect it. There was signs of bed bugs all over the box springs on both beds. Black dots every where, which is the bed bugs poop. They need to train there staff for what the signs of bed bugs are. The room will need to be treated properly and then monitored.BED BUGS HAPPEN AT HOTELS BUT THE AMOUNT OF BLACK DOTS, TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE BEEN IN THAT ROOM FOR A LONG TIME, AND THE STAFF IS NOT CHECKING FOR THEM. PLEASE PROPLEY TREAT YOUR ROOMS.REPLY TO YOUR REPLYI am not making any "Baseless accusations" my family has been in the hospitality business for over 25 years. We know exactly what to look for and the signs of bed bugs. The fact that you say that you checked the room or had your pest control company check the room and there was nothing there is a complete lie. If you actually hired somebody and they told you there's nothing there, you need to find a new pest control company. The fact that there was so may black dots on the box springs, confirms that no one has been checking for bed bugs. At 1st I was not going to leave a review, but I am sick and tired of hotels not checking for bed bugs, having them and then we have to panic to try to find another hotel that does not have bed bugs. I could care less about the pet fee. What we care about is having a room that doesn't have bed bugs, because we don't want to bring them to our car, or house.

The room was clean but small. It was nice to have a full sized refrigerator. The location wasn't bad pretty close to the Gulf which is beautiful. Worth the trip to Galveston. The service on the other hand was not great. The people running it was rude. Especially Shauna. We were not happy and will not stay there

As a pet parent, finding a welcoming and comfortable place to stay while traveling can be a bit of a challenge. However, my recent stay at Candlewood Suites Galveston was an absolute delight, and I couldn't have asked for a more pet-friendly and accommodating experience. Despite being pet-friendly, the hotel was impressively clean and well-kept. Our room was spotless, and I didn't encounter any pet odors or signs of previous pet guests. The hotel clearly takes pride in maintaining a high level of cleanliness. Despite being a pet-friendly establishment, the hotel managed to maintain a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. I never felt disturbed by other pets or their owners, which added to the overall tranquility of the stay.In summary, my experience at Candlewood Suites Galveston was truly exceptional. Their dedication to providing a pet-friendly environment is commendable. I left with a profound appreciation for their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a fantastic stay for both pet parents and their furry companions. If you're seeking a pet-friendly haven in Galveston, I wholeheartedly recommend Candlewood Suites. It's a pet paradise that exceeded all my expectations!

We were greeted poorly upon our arrival by a gentleman who fails to understand that he is in the hospitality industry. He did nothing to make us feel welcome. Rather, he emphatically explained to us the circumstances under which we would be asked to leave the property. We travel with our standard poodle who is generally excited when we arrive at destinations and barks a little. Our desk clerk glared disapprovingly when the dog barked and then emphatically explained that we would be asked to leave if 2 noise complaints were received. We have traveled a fair amount with the dog and this was a first. At about 1 AM the night we checked in, the dog did begin to bark when young children across the hall from our room began screaming and laughing loud enough to be heard in our room and at the front desk, just down the hall. A different desk clerk did address the matter, but had we not complained I'm sure it would have continued for more than the hour I tolerated it. In addition, our room was in poor repair (broken toilet base, dirty tile and carpeted floors) and sparse amenities like towels and toiletries. This was a thoroughly unenjoyable stay. I enjoyed Galveston, but this hotel was as close to awful as it gets.Rooms: Dirty and in poor repair. Broken toilet. Unprepared damage to walls. Dirty tile floor upon check-in. Snack food left in chair cushion from previous guest.

I suppose to this hotel decent service is optional. I waiting 10 minutes at the front desk to be checked in upon arrival, and did not see a single staff member since. My room was not cleaned a single time throughout my entire stay and of course nobody was at the front desk to answer calls. There's a reason this hotel is the cheapest on the island.

I dont know what the rest of these people are talking about. This hotel is nice. The guy at the front desk was nice enough to drop the price down and put us on the 1st floor. Beds are soft and clean. The pool is very nice. I was glad we found a room here! Wasn't expecting a full kitchen in the room but hey that's a plus! Again, this room was nice and clean! We definitely enjoyed our stay and will recommend to anyone!

I am extremely satisfied with the overall experience at this hotel. The staff is so friendly and they clean the room so well, they make sure room is up to par with all the necessities, the kitchen is great you can make a full meal and have a dishwasher and full size fridge. They are walking distance to target dollar tree and a few other stores that come in handy. And literally have the beach down the street. The pool is always so clean and refreshing and the gym is also great for a good workout where the laundromat is also located and is free of charge yes you read that right isn’t that awesome. They have a share cabinet that comes in handy when you need something that isn’t in the room. Also there is little store that offers free coffee, it has drinks, food and snacks and is very affordable. Definitely staying here for any future vacationsRooms: Room is great and very well maintained perfect sizeFood & drinks: They offer a variety of snacks drinks and food you can make in the room

Stayed 1 night for a quick trip to the beach with the pup and husband. The price was very competitive and the room was super accommodating with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and two burner glass top stove. You can't walk to the beach and the views from the rooms are not appealing but I wasn't looking for either of those things. I love that their location is right when you get onto the island so it makes it a great home base for a quick stay. They are also right next to a petsmart and a target, I am not the best packer apparently and needed to stop by both after arriving, so that was also super convenient. I thought the bed was comfy and they had HBO access included in the tv package which made late night winding down nice. Wi-Fi access was easy and made available at check in. Super chill spot and I can see it working for a variety of people.

Wanted to wait until the end of my stay to write a review. We had 5 rooms/ families. Kids and I were really impressed with our stay, pool, great bathing product options, free clothes washing, good-sized kitchen with utensils, cups, bowls... everything u need, including a stove and kitchen sink. We couldn't believe all the amenities (lots more than i mentioned) at a great price. We're definitely staying here again!

We booked through a third party who gave the option to pay upon arrival, so before we left we called the hotel and was told they didn’t have our reservation we call back to the third party who still showed our reservation so we continued on with the drive once we go there they had canceled our reservation because we didn’t prepay and they third party was not aware that the reservation had been canceled. Stay somewhere else or book directly with the hotel

Manager and staff were very accommodating and pleasant! Upgraded our room size for free based on our family size. Rooms were a little outdated but shower and appliances were nice. Thank you!

I tried this place out. There are holes in the stairwell walls and the appliance are not fully secured. Rooms are cleanish and comfortablish. Hall ways look vacuumed but has large debris. Tops of appliances and hard to reach areas of room was not deep cleaned. Doors did not all function properly. Staff at checkout had hard time printing receipt. Was hoping for a better result. Next to a recycling plant and it make the hotel look trashy. Dryers did not efficiently dry clothes took almost two hours. Laundry area looked to be need of a cleaning for awhile.
