Loyd Park, located on the west shore of Joe Pool Lake, offers a peaceful and scenic outdoor experience across approximately 791 acres of native Texas landscape. The park features large individual campsites averaging 1000 square feet, each equipped with a picnic table, pavilion, grill, and fire ring, providing plenty of space for visitors to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The park is well-maintained, with clean restrooms that are accessible and stocked, and numerous picnic areas near the water with BBQ pits. Visitors can bring their dogs, as long as they remain on a leash, and are encouraged to bring their own doggie refuse bags. The park is family-friendly, with a playground and hiking trails that are nicely kept and offer beautiful scenery. Camping experiences are highly positive, with many guests appreciating the convenience of paved RV spots with small gill gazebos and good Wi-Fi connectivity. The park feels safe, thanks to regular police patrols, and the staff are friendly. Loyd Park is conveniently close to major attractions in the DFW area, yet it maintains a secluded atmosphere with abundant wildlife and scenic views. Whether for camping, picnicking, hiking, or hosting events like eclipse viewing, Loyd Park provides a relaxing and enjoyable outdoor escape for visitors.
I find great pleasure in spending time with my friends and family at this well-maintained and organized park.
