The 1940 Air Terminal Museum was a great wedding venue for our group of about 100 people. So many people both from Houston and out of state loved the museum, and despite the colder weather almost everyone went out into the historic airplane (and loved it)! There was almost always someone wandering the exhibits, so there was plenty to look at and talk about for the folks that didn’t want to dance. Juan was so easy to work with and really helped us use the space in the best way possible. Also, we were close enough to the hotels around Hobby that their shuttle service would bring people to and from the venue, which was nice for the out of state people. Overall a unique venue that was convenient, super interesting, and easy to work with!

The most stunning venue for a wedding and awesome exhibits for the day to day plane/airport history enthusiast. Outstanding establishment and staff.

One of the best kept secrets in Houston - great event venue and valuable piece of history. This museum is located near William Hobby Airport and is a short drive from there. It has a plane in the parking lot out front, but the Air Terminal has three stories. Only the first story is open, which has exhibits on the historic airlines (many which did not make it) that called Hobby home. There is also a small space exhibit which shows off Houston as Space City.If you get a chance, go take a look at the annex which includes a trainer, a helicopter and another airplane. They often wait for larger groups to take the walk over there. Sometimes if you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of the Houston Rockets private plane.Great for aviation lovers. It is also a beautiful event venue that gives a nice historical flair. Used a Groupon to get a good deal. They have wonderful volunteers that are highly knowledgeable. If they had more funds, they could finish renovating the second floor, which has a great view of the runways.

Certainly worth the $5 and more! I loved seeing the old planes and getting to see a little piece of history. They have a lot of old equipment from the TWA and Pan-American days and it is real close to Hobby Airport so good chance to see a plane land. Would definitely recommend with children too

I've been meaning to visit this museum for a long time and I finally had the chance to do so recently. For history lovers, this place is phenomenal. As soon as I stepped inside the building, I could smell history. The structure is definitely old and dated but this only makes it more attractive and interesting. My favorite part was stepping inside the historic airplane in the back of the museum and watching modern airplanes take off from Hobby Airport. I really enjoyed my visit and highly recommend this museum to all Houstonians and history buffs.

I had a good time here at the first airport in Houston. This museum features artifacts from the early days of aviation. It includes items such as pilot and flight attendant uniforms, china and silverware used to serve dinner in flight, luggage, etc. This place was also home to the Women's Air Force pilots during the 1940s. This is a fascinating place rich in history. I'd visit this place again in the future.

This museum didn't have very much to see but what they did have was very cool and very interesting. The entire museum had been rented out for the afternoon so we were only able to stay for maybe 30 min. I'm guessing there was probably more we could've seen if the museum had not been rented and getting ready for a banquet. I also thought there were planes to see behind the building but we weren't able to go back there due to the same issue. So if you are planning to go, I recommend calling 1st and making sure it is open and hasn't been rented out.

Being a local Houstonian for over 35 years , I'm embarrassed to say I just recently visited this hidden gem for the first time. This Art Deco building actually used to serve the City of Houston as the Houston Municipal Airport. It's also a great spot to watch the planes land at nearby Hobby airport. If you're by Hobby airport and have some time to spare, I would stop by .Jennifer Pammit-RealtorGeorge E. Johnson Properties

I’ve visited this place a few times with my son. The admission is $5 and self guided. I think it’s pretty interesting to learn about history. I especially love the wing with the different airline uniforms. There’s a plane in the hangar that they allow you to view and on special occasions there’s an old southwest plane that they allow you to go inside. Very fascinating. Just note, this museum isn’t an exciting experience but I think it’s valuable and worth a visit. On days when you have extra time I’d suggest watching the planes take off from Hobby. Sometimes you can see the Rockets private plane.

Its a small museum but they had quite a lot of artifacts from airlines of yesteryear, including my beloved Pan American World Airways. I enjoyed looking at all the memorabilia. Id definitely recommend it for historians and airline enthusiasts.
