I've shopped at Adventures in Birds for over 20 years and live this place. Full line of food, treats and toys to satisfy the pickiest of my birds. Jean and Gary are always available to answer questions or offer suggestions in answer to my inquiries.

Bought my African gray there in 2005. Would not consider anywhere else for boarding my gray.

This is the best place for anyone looking for pet birds or bird supplies. They have been around since 1980. Knowledgeable staff and large selection. Highly recommend.

English version belowEnglish/ Portuguese: As a Brazilian, my family and I already had a cockatiel in Brazil, now coming to Texas, we thought we should buy another cockatiel, we Brazilians already have experience with birds and macaws, I'm not going to lie, they There is a lot of variation in birds, blue macaw, red macaw, I believe there are also green ones, cockatiels, parakeets, lorikeets, and others. The service at the place is very good, the people are very calm and polite, the entrance to the place was a little difficult to find, but it's what you think. It made me feel a little sad, seeing the birds in the cages, and seeing the Americans taking care of Brazilian birds, which are almost at risk of extinction, blue macaws. And it made me angry because they are not in their place, and Americans buy them without knowing, just for the beauty of the bird. But that's personal thinking, but the place is very good.English version below.English:As a Brazilian, my family and I already had a cockatiel in Brazil, now coming to Texas, we thought we should buy another cockatiel, we Brazilians already have experiences with birds and macaws, which I'm not going to lie, they have a lot of variation of birds, blue macaw, red macaw, I think there are also greens, cockatiels, parakeets, loros, and others. We have always had good experiences at Adventures in Birds, and we stop by at least twice per month. The staff has always been welcoming and helpful. We go to AIB for food, for bird care (nail trimming, beak trimming) as well as for bird gender verification via a DNA test. Their selection of birds is always a treat for the eyes and ears.

I don’t recommend this place we got a blue parrotlet named little blue the 14th bird in are flock (we have a lot of birds LOL) he is scared of everything especially hands we’ve tried everything but recently found out that y’all didn’t tell us his toe was chopped OFF!!! The older lady was really rude to us/me and my friend .there was bug eggs in the food and I heard this was not the first time sometimes when I go there I feel as if it is abuse to the poor birds.and don’t get me started on the birds outside fighting to stay alive.if you are trying to get a bird here I rather find a other place the only good thing about this place is that the young lady was so nice helping us all the time.

They are rude, we were more of an annoyance than anything. Their seed mix were full of bugs! The bag I bought literally had bugs hatching in it. They handle their birds poorly. I wish we would’ve never gotten our bird from there! It has horrible behavior problems because of how he was handled! He’s terrified of hands and people! It’s been over a month and we still can get him to step up because of his fear!COULDN'T RESPOND DIRECTLY SO EDIT TO RESPONDWe stored the seed mix it at room temp, yet still had bugs hatching. There were several bugs in the other containers that your seed mix was in. We just had to purchase it to do diet conversion. We got a Green Quaker Parrot, he is the 5th bird in our flock. So we are not new 2 birds. When we bought him y'all clipped his nails twice. we told yall it was already done but was ignored and one nail was cut too short and bleed. The remedy was to burn the nail to stop the bleeding. So it's not completely shocking that the bird it terrified of hands and people, I would be too.

The only reason im giving 2 stars is that the 2 lady that takes care of the birds were really nice but the lady behind the counter was impatient and rude the whole time and overpriced for the birds that they didnt even breed them self, and in the name of sanctuary for the bird they charged way too much for the birds that their real owner dropped them and got them for free
