I've never actually visited this establishment in person. I've only ever ordered this via Doordash, so filter this review through that lense. I actually decided to give this place a try based on reviews. It lived up to the hype. Even to go, it arrived to my place fresh and hot. I tried several items, and all were well-seasoned and delicious. Affordable. Yummy. Consistent taste. What more could you ask for?I can't speak to the service or ambiance.

Ordered the shawarma fries which were lacking sauce and chicken was dry. Also tried the gyro quesadilla which could have used a lot more gyro meat. The quesadilla was done perfect in terms of cheese. Felt more like a cheese quesadilla. The tzatziki sauce was very watered down.

One of the best places in Montrose to get gyros and other Mediterranean food. Gyro burrito is delicious but I absolutely love the gyro fries with feta cheese and lamb meat on top. The only complaint I have is that it's a little bit pricey but fair for the dishes and quality of food they're making. Was surprised to pull up to a convenient store looking place but they serve some great food in there!

Run, don't walk to this unassuming corner store. I was so pleasantly surprised to taste and love everything on my plate. It's always an aspiration, but is still the best feeling when it comes to plan. The combo plate with gyro and lamb was to die for, the hummus was incredibly flavorful, the cucumber salad has the perfect combination of pickles/scrumptious vegetables, all tied together with the rice. I balked at the price but definition worth it. Service is amazing and quick, my order was done prior to my pickup time.

Glad I finally found Al's. Hidden inside a convenience store the place is exceptionally clean and impeccable service. Grabbed a gyro plate. The hummus, thick cuts of meat and salad were all very fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back.

As others have noted, surprisingly delicious food in an unlikely location. Although some of the items we sampled were mediocre, others were EXCELLENT. So it's a major hit and minor miss over here. YAY:-Gyro plate. Delicious. Meat had a great texture and flavor, with crispy edges. -The kibbeh. On its own or part of a sampler, just make sure you get it. Wow. Stole the show. Perfect texture and very delicious.-The falafel. Falafel is usually a miss for me at most places since it's usually too dry. I picked it up thinking it'd be the same situation since it was so hard on the outside but somehow... it was moist on the inside. Very crisp exterior with a moist interior -- surprisingly great. NAY: -The chicken shawarma plate. I figured the chicken would be great since the beef was but it wasn't as good. It wasn't bad or particularly dry or anything. It was just relatively unimpressive in terms of flavor/texture. -Spicy potatoes. I think these would benefit from a crispier texture. I plan on tossing the leftovers in my air fryer to try and improve them. -Their pita bread, honestly. Just not that soft. Overall, pretty damn good food at very reasonable prices.

Overall great chicken shawarma sandwich. Moist and plentiful on the fillings. I will absolutely come back to try more as it was flavorful and at a great price too. I would keep it more classic next time though and do it without the lettuce. The gentleman there was very friendly and the place they made the food was nice and well maintained. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because I feel there are 1 or 2 other places that are just the next level up. However, this was excellent and has a bunch of creative options as well.

My favorite gyro meat around the city. It’s thicker cut than most. Also try try the gyro fries or the spicy potatoes!

We ordered through GrubHub however, This place screwed up our order and did not send it any pita bread, even though we payed for extra. When I called the company to see if they were going to bring our missing food and correct the order they told me that they were not going to do anything about it. “That was just how the industry goes.”

I love this place and addicted to their egg and gyro tacos on corn. The hummus is the best in town and love their gyro bowls. Can't beat this spot!!!

One of my favorite take-out places in Houston that I have been going to for years. A small shop/bodega with a great kitchen. The gyro and falafel wraps are excellent. Great for to-go and delivery. Delicious food and affordable.

Though I have never been to any Al Quick Stop location in person, I have been ordering from them through UberEats for quite a while. I always get the gyro plate and my boyfriend always gets the chicken schwarmas. I also tried the veggie plate once with eggplant and spicy potatoes and it was so good! Why I docked one star is because they used to give us the normal two sauces (tzatziki and garlic sauce), but now they require us to pay 70 cents for garlic sauce. That's a bit cheap and rubbed my boyfriend and I the wrong way. We will most likely be ordering from here less due to that.

Don't judge a book by it's cover! Though this restaurant is housed in a convenience store/ bodega type of establishment, they make some good food. The wait time is a little lengthy but everything seems to be made to order, so just be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes if not more. Most of the staff is Spanish-speaking, so just be prepared to battle with a language barrier if you're trying to inquire about menu items or wanting to do any substitutions/ alterations to any items.Tip: you'll order at the restaurant, but you'll pay for your items at the front where you would normally check-out with any items from the store.
