Good experience- 2nd time using Allied. Moving from Texas back to California. Driver RT was the greatest & his Ca. crew. The Houston crew that loaded me was very nice & professional. Alan & Lupe' - kudos to them for their hard work.
The office, Angie Palomo did everything very well to ensure the schedule stayed in tact & everything was in order. Ed Garcia the salesman was the best. Enjoyed working with him on the estimate.
Pricing was quite accurate. Very important. Everything was in tact from beginning to ending.
They don't charge by weight, only by cubit feet. They don't rip you off like the other Van Lines.

An all round great experience. Estimator spent time at my home to determine a fixed price estimate. After selecting Allied as my mover, a local Move Coordinator was assigned. After a discussion, she offered an alternate approach to dealing with boxes I wanted to move into a mini-storage unit, which reduced my cost and turned the moving of boxes into the storage unit over to Allied Van Lines. Saved my back and my money.
The packers showed up on schedule, and did a great job of efficiently packing everything for the move in a single day. The following day the moving van arrived, with great communication by the driver ahead of time. With his local crew of 4, they packed everything into the van, and the driver left my Texas home for California.
The driver kept me informed during his trip of the estimated arrival date, and met that date. The driver coordinates everything once he arrives at you pick up point. Reuben was courteous, efficient, and skilled at coordinating the 4 man local crew at my destination home in California. They moved my boxes going to storage into a smaller box truck and transported them and unloaded them into my storage unit, keeping careful track of each box number being unloaded. They next drove the van the short distance to my home, and unloaded the remainder of the cargo there. The moving number for each item was again tracked, and at the end of the offloading Reuben and I went through the accounting to assure that everything loaded onto the truck in Texas arrived in California and was safely unloaded and undamaged.
Overall, a great move, which occurred according to our agreed schedule, and for the agreed cost. No change orders, no extras and not surprises. I Would Recommend Allied Van Lines to Others!

Just made the move from Texas to Alabama and I couldn't have asked for a better move! The gentleman, Mr. Garcia who came out to inventory everything was very professional and understanding and easy to contact when things about my move changed. The movers themselves were very good and took great care of all my belongings. Of course some things break, but the only thing that broke was a cheap bookshelf and a very old cheap floor lamp that we wanted to replace anyway! Drop off and delivery also went very smoothly and the guys who came were fast, professional, and understanding. If we move again, I'm definitely sticking with Allied!!!

I cannot stress enough how dissatisfied I am with Allied Van Lines. I used them to move from Texas to Colorado. We cancelled our original contract with another moving company and signed with Allied Van Lines because the window of delivery for the first company was very large. Even though the quote from Allied Van Lines was much higher than the others I received, we decided to go with Allied because they are a supposedly reputable company and offered a reasonable guaranteed delivery date window. Once my family's belongings were picked up, I did not receive any information or updates as to where the van was for quite some time. The great service I had received up until pick up had disappeared once they had our belongings in their possession. No one was able to get a hold of the driver and no one knew where our belongs were. We later found out that our belongings were literally sitting in a warehouse for an entire week before the moving process began. My husband is a physician who had already started working in Colorado. I am a nurse still working in Texas and we have a child. Allied Van Lines was less than apathetic to the fact that we lead very busy lives and need advance notice and coordination for the delivery of our stuff. Before we signed with Allied, they ensured that the guaranteed delivery date window was accurate and Allied would cover any cost incurred due to their fault of late delivery. Our belongings arrived days and days after their guaranteed delivery date and we were informed that we would not be paid for the costs that were caused by their fault. They offered $100 for each day after the latest "guaranteed" date which is a fraction of a fraction of what I paid for their supposed professional and excellent service. By that point, my husband had began working and my family and I were sleeping on the floor of our home. I was scheduled to return back to Texas to start working again and our belongings were still not delivered. My mom, who had come with us to help us move in had to change her flight to a later date so that someone would be available to accept delivery. Of course, Allied did not offer to cover any of those expenses. What's worse is that they would not settle on a specific new date of delivery so we had to address this issue every single day and plan accordingly. Allied Van Lines did not even have the correct delivery date ON delivery day. They had told my husband that our belongings would be delivered the next day and told my mother they would be delivered that day. Once the truck finally arrived at our house, they were not adequately prepared. They knew our home was on a small road and an 18-wheeler would not fit on that road. It was written in their notes. The delivery driver had no clue of this situation which delayed delivery hours while they scrambled to find a smaller truck to load everything onto to transport down the street. Consequently, the movers were very rushed in placing our things. Furniture was placed in the incorrect room and some furniture had been haphazardly placed upside down or on its side. Even then, the disappointment still did not stop. Some items were broken and were placed in positions to hide that fact. I have only seen similar behavior by a child trying to foolishly hide their mistake. For example, a leg of a night stand was completely broken off. What Allied Van Lines did was place the nightstand in the closet of the bedroom and place the nightstand upside down so the legs were facing up. They then placed the leg back in its place resulting in it falling apart only after I moved it. My husband and I talked to customer service many times and they were very rude to both of us. I can honestly say that I have not encountered such rude and apathetic customer service employees in my life. They made absolutely no attempt to ameliorate their many mistakes. I strongly encourage you to not use or at least strongly reconsider using Allied Van Lines for your next move.

Dale Morgan was supposed to show up at 2:30 and never did. I called twice and left a voicemail with no reply. When I called Jodie said it was not on his calendar and had a rude tone when I assured her of the email THEY sent me with the time and date. If you want an unprofessional and unorganized moving company lacking customer service, this is the place for you.

We used Westheimer Transfer and Storage for our move to Melbourne, Australia and again to Oklahoma City, OK when our international assignment with my husband's company was complete. Upon returning to the States, Westheimer shipped our items that we had stored with them while abroad to Oklahoma City, OK. Once delivered, we realized that our china cabinet had been damaged during the process of either packing and moving for storage, during storage, or while delivering to our new home. We spoke with Westheimer's representative, Shirley Papich, only to be met with hostility and anger. My husband and I were hung up on several times and were even called "liars" when trying to submit our claim for the damage. We eventually did receive a payment to fix the cabinet but this was not without disrespect, frustration, hassle, and more time than we should have had to spend. I will not and would not use this company again because of the disrespect we received.

BEWARE!! I wish I would have seen the reviews before contacting them and having them come do an estimate for my move. The entire process, from the estimate, to getting the contract put together, to getting a date set up... was HORRIBLE. I have never experienced such poor customer-service in my life. For a company that charges over $3,000 for an out-of-state move, they treat customers and potential customers as insignificant, inferior, and incompetent. BRYAN BURK was the representative that I spoke with, and he was nothing but unpleasant to communicate with, and very insulting. He was unhelpful, not flexible, and did not explain things when asked questions. He made it very clear he didn't care to have my business and I would recommend them to NO ONE!!

Yep - one star is far greater than they deserve! My company moved me in October 2017. They paid almost 3,000 dollars. I received less than one half of my furniture. I paid for insurance. My things were moved from a 5X10 floor to ceiling storage unit. I received a queen sized bed, a twin bed and a small dinette with 2 chairs. WHAT?!?! Nothing else even though I paid for insurance. 'Customer service' a misnomer. Fine print in contract. Horrible!! Lost - brother and father's photos - they each passed within a year. Lost family photos, furniture, heirlooms. They said - tough s***** This company is a sham, scam, etc. never ever trust your precious things to this gangsta organization!
