I had my first experience there a few weeks ago still a little shy around meeting new people but overall it was a really great experience to hang out and play the Pokémon card game in real life with other people very nice and welcoming atmosphere. I’ve been very busy with work lately, but I’m looking forward to coming back in my free time

It was a good game store with a lot of stuff for Magic: The Gathering and TCGs in general.

Always a good selection of games, but could use better parking

This is an RPG gamer's dream store.I played at a table in a Pathfinder 2 session with my GM (DM) from my regular D&D 5e game. It's well-located in Central Houston, a modern place. (There is no cover charge, so please consider purchasing something, but no requirement from Asgard Games.)

My favorite LGS in houston. Weekly tradition to play commander here on Friday nights. Also free board games available to enjoy whenever you like! Incredible staff, great play community, and their bar has great beer selections to choose from!

TL;DR review: Selection isn't great and it's pretty obvious that employees aren't exactly invested in helping their customers.Showed up at about 4:30 fully prepared to spend about $100 in board games I was looking for. When I walked in, it seemed the one employee had just gotten off the phone with a customer who had called to let them know the parking lot was full, and if there was any other places to park. The employee seemed to be unreasonably angry about this interaction and proceeds to rant about it to the group playing at the table next to him. They then proceed to bad mouth this customer together talking about "have they never been anywhere before? What do they want me to do?" And "you were a lot nicer than I would have been."This conversation went on VERY out in the open the entire time I was browsing. The selection of board games was very limited and a lot of shelf space was empty. I say this respectfully, I have literally found more variety inside Target or Barnes and Noble. I was really excited to finally check out a board game shop, but this seems to be more of a Magic/Warhammer store that also carries a few board games staples. I looked through the entirety of the store twice and didn't end up finding what I was looking for, nor received any sort of greeting or assistance. The visit definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and I left with not too many reasons to come back. Selection isn't great and it's pretty obvious that employees aren't exactly invested in helping their customers.

It’s just a really great environment for any card or board game nerds. There isn’t a huge amount of variety in what games they carry - it’s mostly magic with a smattering of other options - but the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and the general vibe is very welcoming.

Decided to get back into magic. Last time I played in ‘18. Sat down and was warmly greeting by players and staff who helped me get back into the game I loved growing up

Such friendly employees, we are brand new to board games. They made this experience seem less intimidating and we had the best time

This store loves Warhammer and MtG.Everything else is super sparse. If you aren't into Magic or Warhammer, maybe try somewhere else. They do have a lot of space for open play, however.

I had a really good time here! I hosted a games night for a social group that I'm in and we were able to find a few big tables very easily. I was nervous because it was the same night as the Magic tournament but it all worked out. They have a bar area that has drinks and snacks available for purchase and they also allowed us to order some pizza to the store for our group. Will definitely be having games night here again!!
