Whats not to like? If you don't like crowds go early or later like 7:30/8pm. This is legit the best grocery store in Houston when you want a little razzle dazzle without WF prices

Reviewing the sandwiches for my own future reference. I've had the Cuban Press, California Connection, and the Central Market Cheesesteak. I really liked the Cuban, the California Connection was solid, the Central Market Cheesesteak was alright.

I went to the coffee counter. they still advertise egg nog lattes I order and pay for one. then I'm told they aren't making them anymore. I tell the young woman to take the sign down she says 'we're trying '. (huh?). I was told to go to the front to get my refund. I had to ask someone else exactly where that was

Been going here for years. It's a nice place to go to. Nice atmosphere. However the meat / butcher shop has dramatically fell off the map as far as quality. I keep trying and it's always bad. The last thing was filet mignon (normal not grass fed) at $34.99 a pound if I remember correctly. Horrible flavor. My guests didn't like it. So gamey And somewhat chewy which is weird for filet. The veal cutlets - like rubber. The ribeye (the cheaper ones for $24 a pound believe) Chewye and average flavor. The supermarket down the street was even better for Half the price. The lamb medallions also rubber. I still go but don't buy my meat there anymore

We picked up turkey for Thanksgiving and also dinner rolls and 3 pies. The rolls were very hard, even after warming. And the pies were not as good as in the past. The apple pie, in particular, had a funny taste. I looked at the label on the box and it says “contains a bioengineered food ingredient.” Really?? I thought Central Market caters to “foodies.” I didn’t know foodies like fake food. All 3 pies had that disclaimer on the labels. We were very disappointed in our purchases this year. And I am a long time Central Market shopper. You can do better.☹️

It's a fun place to explore but you can't really do your grocery shopping there... you still have to go to another grocery store to get the rest of the stuff, but still worth a visit.

This place is amazing. Awesome selection of fruits and vegetables as well as the meats. This place also has a great variety of food from all cultures. I will be back!

While this is obviously the best grocery store in houston, they get a lot of things wrong. I have come to a place wherein I believe it is purposeful. I spent nearly $200 for a Thanksgiving meal that was TERRIBLE. The turkey was ok, and the pumpkin pie was ok, but everything else was sub-par, and most needed a lot more treatment than the instructions said. After cooking the green bean casserole for nearly 3x as long as they said, the green beans were still raw. They gave them zero treatment, and then said 25 minutes at 325F would make them food. NOPE. Why is texas such a dump, in general? The standards here are extremely low.

I was there day before Thanksgiving. for turkey and trimmings. Bible disappointed. I used to nearly live there. They did have the usual salads, the cornbread stuffing was gross, only way to get cranberry sauce was to nuy it in bulk on the shelf, enough for 6 families rather than I person. it was enormously expensive. I'll find another place to go. everything was tasteless

This place is on serious steroids! If they don't have something here, you probably won't find it anywhere. The deli looks amazing (and the lines long - even at 11!), the produce section is huge (!), they have "raw" meal kits where you can put everything together at home so it's freshly prepared... They have it all!

I wish all products were organic made with good oils. It's a. I've place to find some quality products if you look hard enough. There's a store called erhwon in California and I wish that this store was more like Erewhon..

Central Market, an HEB concept, is a true standout in the realm of grocery stores. It's clear that they've drawn inspiration from Whole Foods but have taken it to the next level. The emphasis on providing an exceptional selection of fresh food options and a wide array of organic choices throughout the store is truly commendable.Central Market has managed to create a shopping experience that's not only about purchasing groceries but also about exploring and discovering new culinary delights. The aisles are filled with a diverse range of high-quality products, and it's evident that they prioritize sourcing fresh, local, and organic items. What sets Central Market apart is their commitment to promoting a healthier and more sustainable way of living. It's a haven for food enthusiasts, health-conscious individuals, and anyone who appreciates the joy of cooking with premium ingredients. As a shopper, you can't help but hope to see Central Market expand and bring its unique and elevated approach to grocery shopping to even more locations. It's a place where you can truly taste the difference in the quality of their products, and it's a testament to the ever-evolving landscape of grocery stores in the modern era.

So this is where all the good produce is! They also have delicious quick take and go meals and lunches. My favs are the rotisserie chicken, sourdough bread and chicken tamales. Grab some canned tomatillo sauce, bake and that's an delicious super easy dinner. The bagged lunches are $5 and perfect for the kiddos. They get a sandwich, condiments, grapes and carrots all in a easy carry bag- I definitely avoid weekends, too busy. The bakery is top notch too btw.

I shopped there this morning and while I always have a good experience there, it seemed like some of the staff was not having a good day. I encountered three employees in three different sections that didn't seem thrilled to be working there. The floral department, usually pretty solid and great customer service, the associate was dismissive and kind of rude. The associate at the coffee shop seemed annoyed when I asked for the total to my coffee as I hadn't heard him the first time. Even getting my coffee after it was made, it seemed like I was an annoyance versus another customer he apparently had better rapport with. Very odd as I used to visit that cafe on a daily basis when I worked nearby. Overall, very off experience. The self-checkout tried to charge me twice for peaches that I had already tagged and yet somehow wanted me to weigh them again. Overall, could've been a better experience.

I've been here many years ago and recently visited again. It has a little bit of Whole Foods vibes. They have 2 salad bars, a coffee station, a sandwich bar, deli, bakery, and a prepared food (kept cold) station. They have a large variety of flowers. Some that I don't think your average HEB store has.In the produce section, they have a wider selection of fruits and vegetables (organic and conventional) than what I've seen at HEB, Sprouts, and Whole Foods. Their bulk section is the biggest I've ever seen at a grocery store.Overall, I will say they carry certain items that you won't find at most grocers.Employees are nice and will ask if you need help. Sundays are good for getting food and beverage samples. But also Sunday afternoons are very crowded. There is a free wifi if you want to use a laptop. The wifi speed is pretty good. I was able to watch YouTube with no buffering. Not too many power outlets. There are some outside in the dining area. The self-serve salad bar is decent but Whole Foods has a much wider selection. The seating/dining area is pretty big when you combine the outdoor seating. There is a small indoor dining section upstairs with a microwave. There is also outdoor seating on the second level with fans continuously on. Cool view of the surrounding area.Would like to try their sandwich bar, cooking class, and coffee options next.
