Came to Club Westside for a special event .It has been a few years since last visit and this club has greatly expanded. The owner ( who is married to Mattress Mac) has animals throughout the club so expect to see giraffes by the entrance to the balcony area and monkeys in the kid play area. Not a typical Houston club but if a tennis enthusiast, they offer both indoor and outdoor courts.

First of all, let me start by saying I am a member for the last three years. The club has put in place a lot of changes this year. A lot of them I like the most noticeable change this year is you have to scan into every single area that you enter in the club now. Although this is very time, consuming and annoying, the positive to this change is there are no more people able to sneak into the club, leaving way more room and comfortability for the members that pay their monthly dues to enjoy the amenities. With this major change the club has hired a lot of new people. Most of them are teenager, so I don’t have to tell you the level of unprofessionalism and lack of prestige that brings.Food:The food is decently priced however the ppl making the food are quite ridiculous. If you are getting food at the pool concession it will be basically close about 30-40 mins before they should be and they will be out of or refuse to make more than half the food on the small menu. Mind you we are talking premade hamburgers, roller grill hotdogs, and conveyor belt oven pizza & French fries. The worst experience I have had was ordering hotdogs and fries for my kids from the main cafe upstairs and they were ice cold… no exaggeration straight from the fridge to the bun… even the workers were shocked when they felt it.Pools:Love the variety here. They have an adult pool that is fantastic. Goes up to 12 feet. They have a lap pool that is great. A family pool that has a kiddie area and small slide. Last but definitely not least a wonderful lazy river with a few major slides.*Cleanliness*My only complaint would be pool cleanliness. For goodness sakes CLEAN THE FREAKING POOLS. There is no one checking ph of pool throughout the day to maintain cleanliness. The pool literally has dirt sediment at the bottom and around the edges of the pool. There is scum on the top of the tiles lining the pool. For goodness sakes SCRUB THE POOL WALLS EVERY 3-6 MONTHS.*Life guards*Stop putting your feet + shoes (slides) in water as you take your watch.*Hours of operation*Why do you close the pool at 9pm during the summer during the week… if one gets off at 5pm and stops home that is barely 3hrs to enjoy the amenitiesFamily zoneYou need someone on payroll who can fix theses games. Too many are down at once and with excited campers there during the summer this becomes a very big issue for members with kids.Sports zoneGreat facility only complaint the baseball pitch machines have not worked for at least a year or more… what is the deal? When will they be replaced or fixed? My kids are ball players and this was a major sell point for our family. This has been a minor disappointment. On the brighter side the animals are so great. The tennis courts are lovely. The member events are top notch and child care on property is heavenly. With that being said let’s get back to the high living members are paying for.PS. This was me being very nice because my family enjoys this facility but there are a few more things going on but these are some of the things that are just getting out of hand on a large scale.Update: 10/17/23Food:Improvements happened since the concession is closed and the only food is in the cafe. I can say all food have been pretty good and fully cookedPool:No change actually may have gotten worse, was in the lap pool and there were tons of bugs at the bottom of the pool and at least 2 bandaids ?. Please drain these pools scrub them paint the ones that need touch up and do it fast.Family zone:Still a few out of order games which sucksSports zone:Much better. I can report ball machine are working and it was definitely in time for fall ballEmployees:A bit better now that summer is over

Great day out for kids. We are not members but have came on several occasions for gatherings and birthday parties. They really cater to young kids and families. So much to see and to do for the kids and a great way to beat the Houston heat. The resort style pool is lovely and has slides for the kids & plenty of seating! If we lived closer we would join for sure!

Club Westside is a way of life for many families that live on Houston’s westside. I cannot say enough good things about this facility, the value and the professionalism of the staff. Our kids have grown up here and we will be members for years to come. Thank you Linda and the Westside team for offering such amazing facilities for Houston residents.

Westside is a great stop for a family outing! Plenty of activities and fun for everyone. They have several pools, tennis courts, pickball courts, bowling, indoor volleyball, basketball, gym, kids indoor play , arcade games and more! I was amazed at all the rescue animals they have. We fed flamingos, and saw giraffes, mini cows and monkeys! The food could use some more work, but other than that, everyone had fun. Even the teenagers! So stop by next time you need to get the family moving!

I originally joined Club Westside for it's tennis, and it has so much more. The waterpark for kids and adults alike during the summer is the best in the city. The gym and facilities are great and it's the type of place your whole family can find something they enjoy doing. They have recently added some new Paddle Ball courts as that is becoming very popular!

Club is amazing for options and stuff like that with tennis, water park etc… I wanted to teach my son how to lift (he’s 15) but there’s no option to let them in the adult gym to teach him how to deadlift, bench and squat rack. They have a gym for younger kids but it doesn’t have any free weights., nor stair master, elyptical and things such. Kinda wished they still let parents train their kids

Used to be good before they separated the gyms into 2 for age groups. I’m currently 17 and a serious lifter and used their great gym because we had a membership. It was great until they decided to build a “teen gym”. I wasent mad until I realized it missed the most basic essentials. No bench press, no crunch machines or similar an exercise, no bars in general. I understand not having those for pre teens but for 16 up it doesn’t make sense. Plus they built the gym with no privacy in mind. When the club it’s super loud and unable to concentrate. Huge downgrade and they will be losing our membership.

A Tennis Haven at Westside Tennis Club??I recently joined Westside Tennis Club through an invitation from a friend, and as an ardent tennis player, I can’t recommend this club highly enough. It’s perfectly tailored to anyone pursuing tennis professionally or passionately. From the moment you step foot on the property, it’s apparent that every aspect of the club is optimized for dedicated tennis players. Multiple outdoor and four indoor courts are impeccably maintained. Every nook and corner breathes organization and cleanliness, a testament to the club’s commitment to providing the perfect environment for tennis.Beyond the courts, Westside offers a fully equipped gym that isn’t overly crowded. The friendly, professional staff contribute significantly to the welcoming atmosphere.A standout feature is the availability of multiple tennis ball machines on a dedicated court. The club’s assurance that if one machine breaks down, another is ready to replace it, speaks volumes about their attention to detail. While the club has diverse offerings to attract families and kids, its heart remains steadfastly dedicated to tennis. I’m delighted to have joined this club, and despite a 30-minute drive surpassing many closer options, I can affirmatively state that compared to many clubs I’ve visited across the United States, Asia, middle east and Europe, Westside Tennis Club outshines them all. However, I’d suggest the club could further enhance its tennis-centric environment. Initiating competitions, creating a system to connect high-level players, and implementing a ladder cup could foster a more vibrant tennis community. Finally, I must express my gratitude towards Nigel, the club’s manager. His dedication to the club and its members’ experiences is evident. His efforts significantly elevate the club atmosphere, and I am grateful for his unwavering commitment. In conclusion, my experience at Westside Tennis Club has been thoroughly enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend it to any avid tennis player looking for a community that reveres the sport as much as they do.

I recently became a member of the Westside Club in Houston and let me tell you – it’s been a game-changer for my family and me. The club is an all-encompassing haven for recreation, fitness, and relaxation, with an impressive array of amenities that cater to all age groups. One of the highlights that enthralled us is the exotic animals housed within the club – giraffes, monkeys, birds, and flamingoes, to name just a few. There is a huge aquarium right in front of the main lobby and it is a delight for little kids. The gym at Westside Club is expansive and immaculately maintained. The variety of fitness classes offered is exceptional, and the massage center is an oasis for relaxation. There’s so much to explore that I still haven’t had the chance to experience it all.For families with little ones, the daycare center is a big relief. It is spacious, well-kept, and offers an engaging environment for children.I am thrilled with the multiple indoor and countless outdoor tennis courts. The indoor sports arena is nothing short of spectacular, with offerings such as trampolines, golf and baseball practice areas, soccer field, basketball court, ping pong tables, and an additional gym. The tennis ball machine is a noteworthy addition here and it was fun to use it and when no one else shows up, it can be used for extended period of time. For my family and I, the water park is the best attraction here among so many others. The slides and the serene lazy river transport you to a tropical paradise. The lush greenery that surrounds the water park is meticulously maintained, and it feels like you’re on an island getaway. The Family Zone is an entertainment powerhouse with an arcade, jungle gym, bowling alley, kiddie golf, and party rooms. The family pool and lap pool are extensive and well-maintained. Keeping swimming pools in pristine condition is no easy task, but Westside Club excels in this area. The cleanliness and pleasant smell are notable.Almost everything at Westside Club is impeccable. However, I must mention that a section of the staff, could improve in friendliness. Additionally, the responsiveness in fixing down games could be better.

So many things to do indoors and outdoors with the kids. We love spending our weekends here and it feels like a staycation every time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for things to do in Houston with and without kids.

Horrible experience! Everything was good when they gave a tour and took my money. While doing the tour people looked at us sideways but I just figured it was due to them being nosey. Unfortunately, the first day my son went there he was harassed like he didn't belong. Other people's Kids run around without supervision in the places they are supposed to be supervised and nobody says anything to them. My son is 21 years old and was questioned EVERY time. Fast forward to today, I received an email saying grandkids can't be added, and saying our family is too big to be members. Mind you their website and employees confirmed it was OK. We are a blended family. So I was questioned on why my children's names were different than mine and also due to their error, the birthdays were entered incorrectly which caused them to think I had a one year old. Even if I did, why can't I? She also implied that we live in an apartment and saying how we cant all live in the same house due to the number of us. Smh. She said everyone over 16 will have to have an ID with the address, even though mine doesn't have our new address to our 5 bedroom house! Not apartment! So if you have a different name, blended family, or BROWN SKIN, BEWARE! YOU WILL BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST, HARRASSED AND PUSHED OUT. DEFINITELY will go back to the MAC club where we NEVER experienced this racism.

Dont join for the gym!!!!Great club for families overall but the kids (teens/ tweens) have taken over the gym!!PeriodWhen you bring this to management attn The club will say the teenagers have been trained so they’re qualified to use the equipment.. that might be true for a small fraction of them but not all.. i try and go to gym on wknds to avoid after school kids at gym but it doesnt matter… theyre there and usually grouped up….Its great kids want to workout but have a separate place or time to do so.. so I as a paying member can choose when to go so I dont have to go at same time.. As per your own club rules the kids under 18 shouldnt be there…The “front desk” is just another teenager whos not going to enforce anything..Overall join for your young kids, great pools, indoor games and amenities not to mention the animals. Just dont join for the gym…. !!

We come nearly every day, and it is great for the kids. There are different areas too. There are 2 zones. There are lots of fun activities. In the family zone, there is bowling, mini golf, a jungle gym, and an arcade. In the sports zone, there are trampolines, soccer, basketball ball, volleyball, baseball, and automatic tennis ball machine. There are 3 pools, a gym, tennis courts, a restaurant, fitness classes rooms, a water massager, a spinning room, a steam room, and lots of animals, including giraffes and monkeys. There is a new baby giraffe and two baby monkeys now. The Westside is amazing. There is also a small waterpark with a few slides and a Lazy River. The Lazy River is a long pool that looks like a river and in the water flows and brings you around. You can borrow inflatables to sit in and enjoy the relaxing ride. I definitely recommend that you go. It is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent tennis courts both indoor and outdoor , multitude of activities for kids - bowling, mini golf , animals , swimming, arcade, play zone
