Lazy female employee and crappy store. Only self checkout? Why do I have to Work to scan my own items?

Samantha Ervin at CNBC SmartShop Hobby Airport was incredibly rude. No one is excited to be at work at 6:30 in the morning but here we are. I went into the store to get a bottle of water. As I approached the POS area there was a wide woman (Samantha) at the end of the isle and no clear delineation of where the checkout line would be. From behind her I asked, “Ma’am, are you in line?” which drew no response. I asked again and I go a mumbly and curt go over there pointing me to a self checkout. It’s clear she has little to no guest service skill or training or maybe she just doesn’t care about guest experience, IDK. I’m glad I do not work with or for this individual. She needs some training - BADLY!

Really delicious chicken Caesar salad! Tender chicken!
Nice friendly cashier, although she did drop my salad on the floor as she was bagging it. :)

The rudest, most inept salesperson I’ve encountered in my many years of travel.
MSNBC Smartshop Houston Hobby Airport @7:23 pm, Sunday February 12. Only attendant in store, who was mopping, scolded me for stepping on the wet floor, but proceeded to mop for another 3-4 minutes while I stood at counter waiting to check out. When I finally did, she only told me the price after asking, and said nothing else afterwards, much less thank you.

Asked Attendant to make change. She refused without a purchase. So bought some gum. When asked for 5 One dollar bills as part of change - she stated the register was closed. Her attitude was clear she did not care to help in any way - even when following her requirements….. Time: Wed 15 Jan @ ~06:00 hrs. She is a role model for lack of Customer Service

As a retired DOJ employee, disabled Marine vet and cancer survivor I just had a great experience with one of the CNBC Smart shops at the Hobby airport in Houston. At one shop, a young professional looked but didn't have any. She said go to CNBC Smartshop. There, a young professional named Carol took care of me. She was sold out, but went the extra mile and found one for me. The future for the country I served looks brighter to me because of young professionals like Carol.

I just witnessed a customer ask nicely for a bag and the cashier rudely tell her “we out.” Then a gentleman who was restocking nearby asked “Are you out of bags?” The cashier said “Nope.” All while the customer was still there and could still hear. It’s a self check out place and she was just standing there fiddling with the stuff in her bag. She was rude, demeaning, and lazy for no reason at all. Very disrespectful, disappointing and unprofessional. Shame on her.

Vendor refuses to answer the phone to resolve the issue.

Sign says open till 9 PM. However the employees say they close by 845 PM so they can go home. They close early "at night" with a shrug.
I'd give a zero star if I could.

Walked in with cash and wanted to buy a protein shake. Saw the self checkout didn’t take cash so I walked to the front counter to the associate. Someone else did the same thing. As there were two employees at two registers the other person went to the woman at the register and I went to the guy. I stand at the register staring at him with the shake placed on the counter waiting for him to ring it up. Not once did he look at me and instead stared at the ground then moved to look at something else on the other side of the counter. Then proceeded to walk away from the store. He avoided my eye contact and was constantly looking away didn’t say a word and just left. Infuriated I put the shake back in the fridge and walked away from the store after being blankly ignored. I am never coming to any of these shops again.

Paula and the other woman working today made my day. They were funny and good natured. Plus they were working the line fast -well that was until an older gentleman didn’t know how to tap his credit card. They assisted, and after the man held up the line he was rude to them. Come on people, these employees deal with enough stress already. Be kind. Thanks for the laugh today!!

I went into two different stores at the Houston airport and asked for tissues. Both clerks ignored me.However at the CNBC Store, the clerk “Neal” said he didn’t have tissues but he had something better. They had wipes that wouldn’t be harsh or dry my nose. I normally don’t buy wipes at an airport. But I was so thankful for the outstanding customer service Neal provided I got two packs ?

Over priced commodities at an airport, pretty much par for the course
