Grew up with this bookstore. I remember the stairs~ :3 crazy last day. Always great customer service. I expect the rent just got too expensive. Literally hours long line with good people (readers~~~) Wall to wall people. Crazy, gonna miss this place! ^O^

I always have a good experience at this Half Price Books. Just yesterday, I brought in a record album that I purchased from a Half Price Books in San Antonio - in November of last year. I asked the employee for a return and explained that the 30 day window had passed, but I would like store credit, if possible. He called a manager to process the return and I explained my situation to her. She said that would be no problem. Apparently some customers come in demanding their money back after the 30 day window. I will be buying something from Half Price Books in the future, so it was no big deal for store credit. The employees are always welcoming and friendly,and their vinyl section is very well organized and typically has some hidden treasures at reasonable prices. Being an educator, I use my educator discount when I make purchases and twice a year they send me coupons of up to 50% off a single item. I have bought cassette tapes, VHS tapes, CDs and books at this location. I was sad, though, to hear from the manager that this location is closing in March with no plans to open up a location nearby.

Ok.. So I walk in and drop off some books to get appraised. They tell me I have to stay in the store while they review my books to give me a buy price. 20 minutes was the estimated time. 30 minutes later. I'm stand right there, I ask how much longer and I'm told that there is one person in front of me and I'm next. I ask can I leave and get something to eat already waited 30 minutes and the cart the guy is working on is FULL! The young lady tells me to come back in 30 minutes and I should be ready. Came back and they hadnt started on my books and NIONE WAS AT THE SELL COUNTER. I waited about five minutes for the guy who was assuring me he wasn't in charge the other two were... no one had even started looking at my books! WHAT! Not sure why but this has to be the absolute worst customer experience and it will be my last. I will emphatically advise everyone to just recycle instead of sell to Half price books! Clearly they are not worried about the customer side of the business. Do not go to: 2537 University Blvd location

Omg I love this place especially reading I love to read they have all types of books whatever you need or looking for they have it I'm a fan of Danielle Steel novels they have all the oldies all for a excellent price trust me it's the price you pay it's a great price always crowded in this place but they serve you with a smile and they are very positive all the time if you need help they are rushing to help you along the way which is a plus plus you won't be disappointed

Half Price is the best. Was surprised got out with only four books. Did not have one author was looking for this time will just have to keep looking, good reason to return.

This location is nice and cozy. They have the feel of a small local bookstore with narrow aisles, but they have a selection that wraps this way and that way and will be hard at times for you to wrap your brain around it. The staff at this location are pleasant. Some of their sections are better stocked than similar HPB locations, and they're stocked with books that are in better condition.

Dropped off some books today to see if I could get anything back on them and if not I was just going to donate them to the store. I was able to receive a 10% off coupon and a few bucks back. I'm totally fine with that as I didn't want to just throw the books away. Be prepared with your ID to sell the books and an up to 20 min wait if there are others there selling as well. The store looked fairly clean, spacious, full of different items besides books, and there are two floors as well. The only thing is that this location is in an high traffic area and parking can be tricky.

This place is heaven! :D I stoped by on my way home after dinner and I just loved it! They have a very large selection, very well organized, categorized and easy to find everything. Staff is super friendly+ helpful and prices are good as well! Impossible to walk out without buying a book :)) Parking was easy - although it was Saturday night, prob not their busiest times. Definitely coming back here for more :))

I've been shopping at this location for over 30 years, and I don't even live here anymore. I always have to budget in half a day here whenever I visit. My happy place.

Amazing customer service! This location graciously donated some old books for the clients read at my job so when I went to pick them up they helped me load the boxes into my car, which I really appreciated! I have purchased books from Half Price before - not this location specifically - but the kindness that was presented to me on my recent visit will definitely make me come back here!

This is my favourite Half Price Books in the city. The staff is outstanding alsys happy to help with a broad knowledge of stock, and personable. A wide selection, which is constantly turned over. Parking can be tricky, but I am.usually able to find free parking, as most of the Rice Village is metered.

I always come here to pass some time. It feels relaxing for me to scan through books and look for a good one. This location has a lot of selections and I find the used books here in better condition than other locations.

There's books here. They're half-price. I'm not sure there's much more to say. If you like books, and you like things that are half-priced, this is the shop for you.
