Carlos Munguia has been consistently responsive to our queries and has helped when our project manager failed to respond to multiple emails over a period of months. If Carlos could also somehow be our project manager we would welcome that!update: we elected to add more panels to our array; the electrician (Joe) took care of his piece of this puzzle expeditiously and courteously. Very pleased!

Freedom solar electricians just set us up for solar with powerwall backup. They went above and beyond to make sure everything is just the way we want. They explained everything clearly, and were highly professional.

Disappointed with Freedom solar , been a customer for 2 years and need to move home and wanted to take my solar ( as I was told I could when I signed on ). I even offered to use freedom solar in my home if they help just move the powerwall and not the panels but they were not interested in keeping me as a customer.

I installed solar panels from Freedom Solar and has been a true nightmare. From panels not working to not experienced technicians that don’t know what they doing to water leaks in my roof. I have 3 months of dealing with this and no one is providing an answer with multiple calls requesting a supervisor to call me to explain the issue and nothing has happened. I NEED A MANAGER TO CALL TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. Sharing my awful experience here may prompt someone to call.

Hello; My experience with power outages began with Hurricane Ike. We were without power for 13 days. I met my brother-in-law in Rayne, Louisiana to get generators, gas, and air conditioners. My brother-In-law worked for Exxon and he had 75 gallons of gas for us. Thanks to him, we made it through Ike.Later, I was still not receptive to Solar Energy, but I knew I had to take care of my family if we had another storm. Then, it snowed. My sister had no power, and the plumbing froze in her house here and in Canyon Lake. We were fortunate and only lost power for a short time. I still ran off the people wanting to show me Solar Power. One day, I shocked my wife by saying that we needed to learn about Solar Power. I knew from other friends how expensive running a whole house generator on propane was for them and due to our health issues, knew I had to do something. We have plenty of sunlight and no natural gas. Therefore, Solar Energy was by far our best option. I looked up companies and reviews and set up a few appointments. I read an article that said SunPower had the best solar panels. I called, and later, Sam Cochran of came to talk to us.Sam was on time, knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He listened to us and taught us about SunPower. When he started to calculate what our needs were, I gave him my requirements. I wanted it to work. Period! I don’t like things that don’t work. He listened and showed us what we needed and a few days later, we purchased his proposal. He kept in contact with us and answered every question we had. He made this experience very easy.If you want the best solar power solution and you want it to work. Sam Cochran and SunPower are the people to work with.Sincerely,H. L. & Debbie Brooks

Our agent Philip is very patient to us. He's very thorough, detailed and knowledgeable. He provided us all the informations that we will be needing and he's always available if you have any questions or concerns. He's one of the reasons why we chose Freedom solar company over the other one that presented to us last time. Customer service is also very good and checks on us every now and then to see how it's going. We got our permit to operate in less than 2wks which is great. I was expecting it to be longer than that coz that's what others are saying. Overall we are happy with Freedom solar company and hoping that it will stay this way.

Lies took forever to get credits in and also promised things at closing not honored as the sales rep indicated even though proof of the conversation was sent to corporate. (Reply) Since it wont let me reply to the response ill edit and reply here. After having screenshots of the conversation I had with the sales representative of the production guarantee which is what made us go with your company vs other companies. Not my fault I was lured into something that was falsely said at time of closing to just get the sale. Also the way I had to fight for the incentives as your sales rep just would not answer to help out.

While we did not end up going solar, Sam Cochran was super helpful and professional. If you intend on going solar I’d still highly recommend Sam and his team at Freedom Solar for getting set up.

If I could leave no stars I would. So many issues to explain them all on here. (Install, function, service, monitoring, connectivity, productivity). Summary: 6 months ago we installed. Panels didn’t work. They finally fixed all but 1 panel after 2 months. Didn’t know the issue with the one and just left. A tech came back out and couldn’t figure it out. Said it’s not his problem, it may be improper install. After 6 months of multiple emails, calls etc.We are told a team will finally be out to look at the non functioning panel. We have been paying for this system up to this point. They got their money. The team didn’t show up and when my wife called they hung up on her. I called and was on hold for a long time and then was told they aren’t coming. They needed to reschedule. I took the day off to ensure I would be here as mentioned. They said I didn’t respond to an email so they canceled and didn’t advise me. I have been trying for months to schedule this appointment and finally I get one. Then Cancelled! This appointment was scheduled on the phone speaking with a service rep, Confirmed by text message as well. They say sorry about your luck, and now I have to take another day off 3 days from now. The entire process has been miserable and if I could return this system I would do it with a smile. This is getting to the point of litigation. Incentives that were offered, we had to consistently inquire about when we would receive them and we’re finally provided them months after install after multiple calls and asking. The system doesn’t produce what is expressed in the contract or plans. The plan was drawn up to produce a certain amount of KWh per year/month estimated and its way under. We were told that “the output was based on the panels being on the equator, no clouds out, at peak sun location.” Our location (north of Houston) wasn’t as adequate for the values mentioned .False advertising, incorrect information, and sub par workmanship. I had to get the installer to fix crooked panels day of install. I didn’t make it a thing, “no biggie” I thought. After months of the run around, I don’t want this system or its company and I’m stuck with it. Worst home upgrade decision as well as the most costly.******update*******Still panels down, not working. It’s been over a year and still never had my system working properly. They are taking my payments for a product that is still not working. Called to tell me it’s up and running 100%. I go look and had 2 panels down. Trash. Stay away from freedom. Customer service is worse than the maggots under the trash.

So as far as the product and the install I'd give them a 4. I've only had a few times where we lost power and the Tesla Powerwall didn't kick in.But they're transparency isn't great. They tell you about your credit but fail to mention it's all based on income. If you don't make X amount....you may not get your full credit. The loan they offer is based on you paying back the credit for the best monthly rate to take effect. However you likely won't be able to utilize that full credit and then end up with a much higher payment. Be cautious and ask lots of scenarios when dealing with them and the loans. They want to close a deal and don't have much support after the deal is done. Service and questions take forever to get responded to.

Don't trust this company, they took my money but gave me 2 broken panels and more than 14 months, they came 1 time a month but still not fix them yet.

So far I’ve been very satisfied with them, I had my system installed in march and even though I had and issue with one of my batteries it was resolved in a timely manner.

Adding an expensive solar system is a big decision and preparing and installing the system is a big job! This is the first part of a multipart review of our experience with Freedom Solar Power of Houston. To start, our project manager Garrett has been a pleasure to work with. Garrett has been helpful, informative and professional. We look forward to progressing the project with his help. The electrician, Mark Cruz was super, Mark was prompt, tidy, patient and very professional. If the rest of the install goes as well, the second part of this review will be as glowing as this part. Stay tuned.Despite a small delay, Freedom Solar Power continues to deserve a 5 Star rating! The installation is complete, looks great and as soon as the city gives the thumbs-up, we are a little less grid dependent! Thanks again to our PM Garrett and a special shout out to the installers, they were lovely to work with. They informed us of what was being done and made sure that we were comfortable with everything. Can’t wait for go-live!
