Found Herbert's by accident. I love Cajun cuisine, so I gave it a shot got lunch today. When I first saw it, I thought it was a meat market-it's is (more on that later). It's clean, sunlit and sizable. There are two doors, one goes into the eatery and the other enters into the meat market. I spoke to the staff and asked was there a Mr. Herbert's. They said there wasn't, but they introduced me to the owner, Mr. Capp. He informed me the Herbert's didn't want to leave Louisiana, but he has the franchise rights in Texas. The meat section was full of meat (Mr. Capp said they have a processing area in the rear). My lunch mate wondered if they would process a deer if you brought one. Mr. Capped said if you bring a wild deer or wild hog, they will process it. The meat you bring must be skinned & quartered-if not, they'll decline. They didn't have standard prices nor do work by weight, but Mr. Capp said they'll discuss prices once your ready to go. THEY DONT PROCESS FARM PIGS.Now to the eatery. Sadly, there's not a lot of seating area-that's the only drawback. There menu is section in appetizers, sandwiches, platters & special. I had boudin egg rolls & a boudin link. My lunch mate had a sandwich with tater-tots.Herbert's has several locations on Houston. I will be back and I'll try to bring my friends from the boot when they visit Houston.

Great turducken - turkey, duck, chicken!! They have them fresh or frozen. You can pick different fillings/stuffings for them. Pick up an extra one because it comes in handy for a all in one meal, all you have to do is heat them. Excellent choice is bring to a rental vacation spot with kitchen to feed the fam!

I went inside just to look around and ended up buying meat pies (flaky bread), Boudin balls, and Andouille Sausage. Everything has a great flavor and I will come back!

This is the best place for specialty meats stuffed with different delicious foods ? They also have a great assortment of other Cajun foods that are convenient for quick meals ?

The foods great , my office orders fromThis place weekly!!! not ever again, the last couple of times we’ve dealt with the same guy the customer service was horrible and just out right rude, the bawl headed guy up front, in a hurry to sit back down, instead of help us order food. Not worth it. If the owner reads this it’s not the first time he’s been a p***** Our business will not do business with that place anymore. What happen to customer service? who in their right mind would support a business whose employees lack common decency skills on how to talk to people. Then I read the reviews and i see why! Do better.. if your employee can’t handle talking to multiple types of people ( Hint Hint ) then maybe he needs work for a company that only services one race, wait maybe he already does…

My store to visit when I want a taste of my hometown. The truck comes EVERy Tuesday with products from Poches in Breaux Bridge. Their boudain is amazing. The hot food is good too. They carry Gueuz Banana pudding. I love it. Everything here is Good. Not the same Herbert's in my hometown, BUT close comparison. Nice people too.

I have been buying stuffed chickens from this placer for years. I have also been stopping by at lunch time for a good meal for years. The last time I came by to order lunch, I paid and stepped to the side to wait. I was greeted by a roach that ran across the counter. I did not want to believe that this place could be that bad, so I took my food without complaining. Afterwards I could not bring myself to eat it. I threw the food away. I then decided to look up the location’s last food inspection on the county’s website to see if there had been any issues. Needless to say I will not be going back. It’s a shame because this was one of my favorite places to eat.

I've been going here for about 15 years. If consistency was a place, Hebert's would be it! Literally, the same guys have worked there. I've never went there & didn't see one of the few faces who are always there. Their customer service has never been below 5stars & the quality of the food nor portions have ever disappointed.

Just blantly prejudice. I walk in, no one greets me. A lady walks in 5 minutes after and three men say hello. The man at the front has a bad attitude, after I order, he asks for my name and felt the need to check my card. He refused to hand me my food but had been handing everyone else theirs. He told everyone to have a great weekend as they leave out but ignored me saying thank you. Ive been here 3 times and its happened EVERYTIME. Thats not a coincidence . Guess Im too black to eat here.
