If I could rate this negative stars I would. I wanted to "rent to buy" a vehicle so a Hertz representative contacted me and gave the details. I then scheduled a rental date and time and he said the car was available. Two days later, I received a call and emails from a Hertz Houston car salesman and he said it would not be a problem if I came in early Friday as the car would be there the day before. I drove 3 1/2 hours to get there and the car was not available. He didn't have an answer as to why. I was told to call the "888" number. I spoke to someone at that number and she told me it was at the airport across town and she could not tell me when it would be available. I tried to get her to have them bring it, but she refused. If they actually cared, and gave good customer service like they claim, they would have made it right by having the car sent directly to the Hertz place where it should have been in the first place. Their claim to customer service is nothing but empty words read from cheap card stock paper. Hertz will never get my business again.

I applied for a specific car. It was 8n stock this morning before they opened. I applied to finance. Was contacted by a salesman in the early morning. He said "I'll get the keys and look at it and call you back in 10 to 15 minutes". I waited all day, called 4 times, left messages, sent him an email. Had to call corporate to get him to call me. Finally at 3PM he calls and acts as though he was getting back to me because he has looked for the car all day but could not find it so it must not be available. This is the worst service I've ever had from any dealership of any kind. I told him I needed the car yesterday that it was urgent I get this taken care of. I personally think he decided to sell it to someone else or wanted to sell it to someone else and put me off all day. I tried all day to get another salesperson, a supervisor, and no one was available all day long. Inexcusable way to run a business and it made me lose an entire day of waiting instead of looking elsewhere when I desperately needed the car.

That worst car buying experience I have ever encountered. They would not accept a payment from my business or a wire transfer from my bank and failed to inform me of this until after I rented a car for purchase. Hertz has lost a sales & rental customer for life.

Our sales person listened to what features we wanted in a car for our teen and helped us to meet those goals including staying in budget. Very happy with the no haggle pricing and no weird fees on top of the overall price. Car is great for our purpose and we are very happy. Thanks to Mo Gaye for his helpful service.

They literally painted over the stains on the seats of a car I bought. Stains and a horrible smell just started randomly appearing about a month after I bought a car there.

Was trying to get a car from their Rent-to-Buy program. Last week, I found the car I really wanted, but it wouldn't be available until today 10/14. No problem. I scheduled the day off work and booked the first appointment to pick it up, which was at 9 am. The salesman called to tell me not to actually show up at 9 though because they've gotta finish cleaning and inspecting the car once it comes back from being rented. Okay, cool.
So this morning rolls around and I don't go because the salesman said he's got to make sure the car is ready first. Now it's 10 am and I haven't heard from him yet, so I call to check in. Some guy answers the phone there and says my salesman doesn't even come into work until noon today, and he can't tell me anything about the car because "nobody can see my information except that specific salesman," and I can call back at noon. He's totally unhelpful and dismissive, so I ask if there's a supervisor available. He flatly says no. I wasn't sure I heard correctly so I ask again. He says no, they're all in a meeting. I tell him that I'd really like to talk to somebody and he hangs up on me. Nice!
So I call back and get a different guy who apologizes about guy #1 and, incredibly, IS in fact able to see my information. He says the car hasn't been returned yet but it should be back today. Well crap, okay, I'll wait then, thanks. I send an email to the salesman to let him know I'm checking in.
Salesman calls me when he comes in at noon and confirms that the car has just made it back in, and should be ready for pickup tomorrow or the day after. I'm like "Wait, what?" He's apologetic but says it usually takes a day or two to inspect, service, and clean a car once it's returned. So I ask if the car was due back today, or was it due earlier and they just extended the rental? He confirms it was due back today. So then my question becomes "If it normally takes a day or two for a car to be ready after it's returned, why is it being listed as available on the day it's actually returned?" He apologizes again and says that's not in his control, which I totally understand, but in that case I'd like to talk to a manager or somebody who could at least receive the feedback that *maybe* it's not best practice to tell customers they can pick up cars 24-48 hours before they actually can. Salesman transfers me to another number.
A woman picks up and I explain the situation. She kind of gets this attitude and basically says I should've read the fine print that says the reservation time/date may change. I tell her I saw it, and I understand if the time/date changed because the person renting the car wrecked it, trashed it, or simply extended their rental time. That's not something anybody at Hertz has any control over. What I'm unhappy about is that there is no possible way, short of the renter returning the car at least a full day earlier than expected, that the car could have been ready anywhere near the appointment time. If Hertz knows it takes 24-48 hours to have a rental car ready after it's returned, why would they state that the car can be picked up far earlier than it really can be? The woman on the phone basically just told me that that's just how they do it. I asked if there was anybody I could speak to about that because that doesn't seem like a good business practice. She just says no, there's no one I can talk to. There's this awkward silence while I'm trying to grasp the idea of a major company being THIS bad. Finally she lamely says she can tell her manager when she sees her later. Like wow, yeah, I'm sure it'll get escalated to all the right people then and thoroughly addressed! Lol Gtfo. I just told her I was going to resume looking for a car elsewhere and she's like "Ok." Incredible, award-winning team Hertz has got

For a week they knew I was coming down from Dallas to buy a very specific car. Followed up Friday to confirm. Called the day of to reconfirm.
Still, the vehicle was dirty inside and out and the battery was at 10%. When, again, they knew I planned on taking this back to Dallas and I had asked that morning that they charge it. Additionally, it smelled strongly of smoke and that was never discussed or divulged until I'd wasted a day and a few hundred dollars getting to and from Houston.
Mo, tried to redeem it and was good, but it was too late.

Disconnect between corporate and branch.
I saw online a vehicle I was interested in. I submitted the form, and then shortly after, I got a phone call from corporate to schedule an appointment for the next day. Once I arrived for my appointment, the sales person I was scheduled to meet was not in that day, then after talking to a different sales person I found out the car I had scheduled to see was already sold before I had arrived. They offered to show me other cars, but it seemed kinda disorganized, like they didn't know where cars were stored.

Not sure what's going on here? I've been actively trying to purchase a vehicle for 3 days and it seems like no one wants to sell it to me?...

At first I was weary about going to this place but let me tell you.. GO TO ABDEL!! ABDEL WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!!! ASK FOR ABDEL!!!! All the sales men are not pushy like regular car dealerships. They keep it real and upfront with everything. If you like a car, but aren't ready to buy it THAT DAY.. Then that same day do the Rent2Buy because I promise you it will not be there tomorrow. They even work with you on financing. Ask for Abdel.

This dealership operates in a highly unprofessional manner. Both the sales team and management lack professionalism and transparency. The cars on their lot are poorly maintained, often with multiple previous owners (3-4), which raises concerns about their reliability. My experience felt like a complete waste of time, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a dependable vehicle.

The cars that we looked at were very rough. The online pictures were not close enough or detailed enough to show all the small scratches, paint chips and door dings.
In addition, the first vehicle had something brown leaking from the dash, down the firewall and into the footwell. It also had crumbles of glass in the interior from a broken hatch or window that had been replaced.
The second vehicle had a latge oil leak on the front of the engine and a tire that was separating and showed steel across the tread surface.
These were one year opd vehicles that had mileage from 21k to 29k. This was completely shocking, a bullet dodged.
We ended up going to a dealer and buying new after seeing how bad that used cars can be.
The people that we spoke with at the location were all polite, helpful, and very willing to help.
The salesman was funny, after what we found, he asked “will you be buying tonight?”
Had me in stitches!

Very unprofessional people with disgusting manners. I have experienced poor service but this place was the worst. I had ans appointment and after 40min they could not explain where was the car that I came to see. I asked to talk with the manager and a normal sales person pretended to be the the manager, didnt help and before I left the store, I caught him and his coworker smiling at clients on their back. How on earth this place can have people like this doing business. Simply disgusting.

We had a great experience with Abdel at Hertz Car Sales. We had gone to other dealerships with awful experiences, so we tried this place out. We were able to test drive and buy in less than 2 hours. The price was right and the interest rate was exactly where we needed it. Highly recommend!

Terrible customer service once you buy your car. You will be calling for months for them to send your license plate. Don’t waste your time here. They give you the runaround for months and won’t ever let you speak to a manager. Disappointing.
