Hong Kong City Mall in Houston offers a lively and colorful shopping experience that transports visitors to Asia without leaving the city. Located on Bellaire Boulevard in Chinatown, the mall features over 100 Asian-inspired shops and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy authentic Vietnamese cafés serving boba tea, jewelry boutiques, specialty gift stores, and a large Hong Kong Food Market. The market is a food lover’s paradise, filled with exotic fruits, fresh seafood, sauces, teas, candies, and even plant-based “fake meats,” making it ideal for those seeking unique ingredients and flavors. The mall’s culinary highlight is Ocean Palace in the west wing, a favorite spot for dim sum, where cash is often preferred due to many cash-only establishments. Despite its vibrant atmosphere, the mall shows signs of age, with some areas looking run down and a portion of stores closed. However, many still appreciate its spirit, community vibe, and the variety of shops, including grocery stores selling east Asian vegetables, fruit trees like calamansi, mango, star fruit, and custard apple, as well as home goods such as chopsticks and dishware. The outdoor areas could use some maintenance, and parking may be challenging, but these quirks add to its authentic charm. Overall, Hong Kong City Mall is a cultural gem that offers a mix of shopping, food, and cultural exploration, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in Asian culture, good food, and unique finds in Houston.
Great place to get any Vietnamese food and walk around mall area.

This was an incredible place to bring my wife so that she could experience a little bit of diversified shopping. The many stores there were fun to visit, but it did look a little run down in some areas. Good place to go and shop for groceries and fresh meat!
