I'm not a customer of here, but I'm an A+ certified technician and am instead writing due to a friend's experience that has been a happy customer here for years. They brought their computer to them in panic before being able to get in touch with me since I've been helping with their computer recently and their wasn't booting. As I understand it, he called to confirm it was not booting (they have never done this before when she dropped off a dead computer), then called back asking permission to order a motherboard. Hou quotes about $150 for the board and $69 for installing. My friend agrees, and somehow the very next day at 10am their computer is ready to pick up. When my friend turns on their computer, they know things aren't right. Fortunately we already had records (pics of hardware and screenshots of hardware info) of her old hardware from me helping her. This told me that the motherboard was the exact same model as they had before, the MSI 760gma-p34 last made around 2013-14. This is not an easy part to find quickly since it's so old it still has a VGA connector on the integrated video. I can't find a place to get one delevered before a week except for eBay and even that takes more than a day. But Mr. Hou insists this is what he did. I also noticed that my friend's video card had been replaced with one much inferier to the one they had before. Mr Hou didn't tell my friend anything about the video card so she was panicking when her game wouldn't even run anymore. When she called the next day after I told her what had happened, he insisted he replaced this hard to get motherboard but replaced the video card for free with a much slower card but didn't think it was important to tell her this. This was likely the entire problem since my friend said the fan on it had stopped but they didn't think it was important. The fan could probably have just been replaced. Now Mr Hou wants another $160 (and maybe more labor) for an old outdated card like what she had.I've read so many great reviews for their services I'm really hoping they work with my friend a little better to resolve this. I've given her Amazon links to a $65 video card that should be suffecient or better than what she had that can be picked up the local Best Buy so it is brand name and quality. She would have been better off putting this much money into a new computer if Mr. Hou had told her about the video card and the real cost here, and again I don't see how he could have had such a rare motherboard shipped that fast, and it's not likely he had it on hand without a huge amount of computer parts stored. I'm glad I had worked on her computer before to know what what was going on when she freaked out because her games won't work anymore, not to mention catching that she still has the same motherboard.I'll be more than happy change/remove this once the issue has been addressed a little more appropriately.

Efficient and Quick. Easy to realize he knows his business...Went there a second time because the laptop my daughter was using for school during this pandemic was noise as hell.. Get it back next day and the noise started almost immediately, to worsen he left it all cracked up open on the bottom side... And the noise still on...

Mr. Charles Hou is absolutely incredible. I brought in an HP Envy x360 with a broken hinge, and he fixed it perfectly in 2 days for an amazing price. You can tell that he truly puts the customer first, given the high quality of his work, professionalism, and unbelievable pricing. I would give Hou Computers 10 stars if I could. Thank you, Mr. Hou. Should I ever have a computer problem again, you will be the guy for the job. Go to him, you won't regret it!

Wish I could put zero startsI have used this man for years. Everything I ever brought to him with a different problem then what I originally dropped it off for. Unfortunately I felt like his prices were reasonable so I continue to use him. But this last time was the last time. I brought my laptop to get my screen fixed along with another laptop. Both laptops got fixed. Unfortunately charger part doesn't hold the adapter anymore it slips right out. He told me that's not his job to fix it because he only fixed the screen. That's all I needed to hear I have my laptop and is now looking for another computer person.

Very professional, very reliable, very affordable, very knowledgeable, and very skillful in fixing computer hardware and software programs. I almost gave up on my damaged external hard drive and the possibility of retrieving the data after I had gone to several places without success. He was able to retrieve all my data and fixed the external hard drive as well.
