This is likely the oldest Kroger inside the loop and definitely the oldest store in the area. The exterior and interior look ancient and as this area gentrified, it seemingly just stayed the way it is. The same thing can be said for the store on Shepherd and 11th but that store has a much larger selection of everything from veggies to the frozen aisle. Overall, it's an inferior choice to the nearby HEB unless you are right in the area and it's convenient.

Bought a couple of gallons of marked down orange juice. Got home and the OJ was bad. Wow the attitude I got in store was just unbelievable. NO WE DONT TAKE THISE BACK, YOU BOUGHT COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND UTS MARKED DOWN when I asked, even thought it was marked down, should it not be for its purpose. NO, ITS MARKED DOWN So your marked down stuff does not have to be fit for its purpose? NO ITS MARKED DOWN When my wife tried to talk to the store representative, the crs said and who WHO ARE YOU The store is on Veterans Memorial in North Houston and the crs is Bernadette. Just waiting for the store manager for over 10 minutes so far

Found this store by coincidence. This has to be the friendliness grocery store. I was looking for a seasonal drink and Timothy went way above and beyond helping me to locate it. Even at different stores. I was literally greeted by 3 different employees. Sound silly but this makes a difference. Keep doing a great job, your smile goes a long way. Thank you for everything you do.

Really unfortunate that this is the closest grocery store to most people in Garden Oaks/Oak Forest. The parking lot is usually trashed (smashed bottles, carts left EVERYWHERE) and there are often some of the worst drivers I've seen in Houston trying to find parking. Inside is clean and usually pretty well-stocked. The produce has a tendency to go bad almost as soon as you leave the store, which is disappointing when compared with the long-lived HEB produce. Staff is polite. Unfortunately they frequently have energy companies/cable companies posted up at the entrance or in the store to harass people doing their shopping. There's a guy that posts up in the front sometimes with a grill who sells fresh BBQ ribs, and they smell great. I'll definitely plan on trying them next time I see him.

I come here for the sales and the reduced cost items. Anything at regular price will be more expensive than Walmart, HEB, or Aldi, who are its closest competitors (by geography). MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CARD AND YOU CLIPPED THE COUPONS if you're using the Kroger app or you won't be able to access some of the discounts. The service I've received there from employees has always been great. The butcher (meats) section staff is stellar in making sure you get the cuts you need.Giving 4 stars due to the fact that they have less selection than the Kroger on 11th Street. They are hit or miss when stocking my favorite Red Baron pizza flavors and they're on sale ?. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could but Google doesn't allow me.

I went to pay my bills today at this location and you can tell we in a more nicer area. They are selling beautiful Christmas trees and some of the pine needles left a trail which are very slippery right at the front door. They have the most on time clean up man that came just as fast as I seen it he already had a whole mini street sweeper to clean it up I was impressed by how fast it was taken care of. That could've been a disaster but thanks to the amazing staff it wasn't a problem. As I was watching the man clean up the mess the lady at the customer service desk was having an issue with 2 customers. I don't think that it's appropriate it ask anyone for their ID if using a debit card that requires a 4 digit pin that is something that is stupid. But either way there was some sort of miscommunication between this lady and those customers prior to today so he was warning me about her service. I made the conclusion that the lady Victoria is a good worker with a calm friendly personality. She took care of my bills just fine even though she had just been yelled at in front of a room full of people. She maintained her voice level throughout the entire incident which I would not have been able to do that. The bill payment part was fast .The manager came over to speak with her about that happened and they maintained professional behavior. There was a worker who overheard the commotion and came to assist incase it escalated. He maintained his professionalism while still letting the 2 customers know don't be cursing at the workers. It was taken care of very well and I appreciate it because I was in a hurry. This location has some very good employees and Kroger really should be proud of that. They had cashier's ready and waiting to take customers. I already did my grocery shopping here before and they have a great Deli department and bakery. Definitely I will do my shopping and bill pay here. It feels like they actually care about people at this location.

Easily the worst Kroger I've ever seen. Strange that such a store can exist in the Heights. You'd think they would have a cleaner store but it's absolute trash. Kroger keeping this location open was a big reason why I switched to 100% HEB. The fact they keep this store open is a direct reflection of Kroger's lack of integrity and uncaring attitude towards their customers. HEB actually seems to maintain a consistent effort across all their locations.

My go to Kroger for everything, I just can’t stand people outside parked their cars and start walking around asking for money. Then they give attitudes and just creates a bad environment. Wish they’d do something about them. Overall great customer service and employees.
