Wonderful museum to visit if you're way, way, way out here (at least for me it's way, way out) and if you're an aviation enthusiast you will totally love it. Lots of airplanes to see and a tribute to Aztec Eagles which I love since very little is known about this small group of brave Mexican Aviators who helped the U.S. during WWII. Thank you for this acknowledgment of those forgotten heroes. We spent about two hours here including our visit to the coffee shop and souvenir shop. The museum is well done and includes interactive exhibits as well. They offer various camps for kids and special events throughout the year. Discounts for military too ($3.00 off). Located at Ellington Air Field. (Just outside the base entry gates). Adults (18-64) - $18Youth (12-17) - $15Child (4-11) - $12Seniors (65+) - $15Children (3 & under) - FREEMuseum Members - FREE

The Holiday Party was a hit. It was enough to do to keep you entertained. The only thing to improve is the staff (young man and lady) that operated the blue simulation machine was very dry, did not smile, and did make it feel enjoyable to want to try. They were eating and drinking and not engaging. I loved the atmosphere. The guy in the plan simulation room was great. He smiled and helped to navigate the party goers off the runway.

We love the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, so we thought we would give the Lone Star Flight Museum a try on our recent vacation to the Houston Bay Area. It reminded us a lot of the Pensacola Museum, but maybe on a smaller scale. There are 2 hangars with old planes that are always cool to see up close. Lone Star does a great job of combining history with flight and one section, the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, did an especially great job of honoring locals who had a part in promoting and/or trailblazing in aviation. Another very interesting section was the history of flight, with a winding maze of floor-to-ceiling maps, photos, and descriptions. The Flight Academy, an interactive, hands-on section with 27 exhibits, is good for kids. They also offer rides in the planes, 20 minute in the air with a total of 45 minutes including takeoff and landing, but at $300/person, we skipped on this event. We decided the Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum is bigger and has more planes and exhibits, but Lone Star holds its own with their history, photo, and interactive exhibits. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

My recent visit to the Lone Star Flight Museum for the Candlelight Event - From Bach to Beatles was a truly exceptional experience, and I wanted to share my thoughts about it. My mom and I traveled all the way from Katy, TX to Houston, TX for this event, and I can confidently say that it was worth every mile of the journey. The Lone Star Flight Museum offered a unique and delightful two-in-one experience. First, we had the pleasure of attending the Candlelight Event, which featured music ranging from Bach to Beatles. The ambiance was simply enchanting, and it created a magical atmosphere that was perfect for a memorable evening with my mom. The musical performances were top-notch, and it added a special touch to the overall experience. What made this visit even more special was the opportunity to tour the museum itself. The Lone Star Flight Museum is a treasure trove of aviation history, with a wide array of aircraft and exhibits that captivated our attention. Learning about the rich history of flight was not only educational but also incredibly fascinating. Mom and I took advantage of this opportunity to capture some fantastic pictures that will serve as lasting memories of our visit. The museum staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they enhanced our experience. In conclusion, the Lone Star Flight Museum's Candlelight Event - From Bach to Beatles was a truly magical and educational experience. From the enchanting music to the captivating history on display, it was a memorable evening that my mom and I will cherish. I highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in aviation or simply looking for a unique and enriching outing in Houston, TX.

This is a really beautiful, clean, friendly and informative facility. Every single staff member we encountered was so kind and seemed happy to be at work. The new Toddler Terminal was perfect for my 1.5 year old and there was plenty to do throughout the museum to keep him entertained. Met the CEO who was so kind and even showed my son the inside of a helicopter. Could not recommend this place enough! We went at 11:00am on a Saturday and beat the crowd, which seemed to start pouring in around 1:30pm. Minuti coffee cafe on-site, which was delicious. Really cool place!

We didn’t know this museum was here and we enjoyed every second while we were here. This museum is very informative and very organized which makes the experience worth it. There are interactive exhibits that really demonstrate the science behind aerodynamics that is very entertaining. Highly recommend taking the family here if kids are at the age to understand and interact with exhibits. Great experience overall!

We visited on Thursday. There were quite a lot of people, but it didn't feel complicated because of the large space. There was also a piece of paper where children could find dolls while looking around the plane for fun. Also, it was so good to hear the explanation on the plane where I could go in.Gift shops also have a variety of products.

A great museum for plane lovers and for those that enjoy and want to learn a little bit more about planes. Parking right outside of the facility and free. Kids under 3 are free! I recommend before purchasing a ticket here, look on Groupon for a deal. For 2 adults I saved $12.50. There is a Minuti coffee shop located right inside and you can access it directly outside or right through the main doors of the museum. It's right before you approach the ticket booth so a ticket isn't required to get to the coffee shop. Once you get past the ticket booth there is a simulation area to the left then two main plane galleries on both sides. If you take a right there are more information galleries and event rooms to book private parties. I would follow them on Instagram to keep up with all the special events that they have. We came on a day they had Lego day!
