Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve is a spiritual place where visitors can ground themselves by removing shoes; the ground is soft. It is a nice little park tucked in a neighborhood, with QR codes that give interesting info. Dogs run wild in the forest and around the perimeter. The mixed woodland preserve in the Heights has great species diversity and shows what Houston environments should be like. Events such as Moth Night are held, with a video of a Mantidfly. Food can be ordered, a ringer is given, and visitors can walk around and find a table while food is ready. Restrooms are amazing, though toilet paper often runs out. The forest is about 10 degrees cooler inside the 610 loop. Picnic benches and a playground add to the experience.
Become one with this forest as you step in I suggest to ground yourself by removing your shoes, the ground is soft. It's a spiritual place where you can connect with nature by completing getting lost.
