I want to share my experience to help you make an informed decision before booking with Muyiwa. While I initially chose this venue for the beautiful view, I found that Muyiwa was friendly at first but became rude and unhelpful when issues arose.
I booked this venue for my wedding and paid a $1,500 deposit in February. Later, I discovered that a saxophonist was not allowed, despite other exceptions for live music such as a string quartet, a piano player, and a singer. When I reached out to discuss flexibility, Muyiwa was dismissive and unwilling to work with me.
After deciding to cancel a month later, I accepted the loss of my venue deposit. However, when I inquired about the refund for my open bar deposit, he refused to return it, even though the contract only specified the venue deposit, not the catering deposit. His lack of empathy and unwillingness to address our concerns made this an extremely frustrating experience.
If you decide to proceed with this venue, I strongly recommend asking all your questions upfront to avoid unexpected policies and issues. I hope this helps you make the best choice for your event.

My daughter's Sweet 16 was absolute perfection! Roughly 75 teenagers were able to dance, eat, and party the night away on a beautiful night. The clear view of downtown was breathtaking. The location, rooftop, and charm of 1111 make this venue THE hidden gem of Houston, TX. I highly recommend 1111 Studewood Place.

**1/5 Stars - Avoid at All Costs!**
I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Muyiwa at 1111 Studewood, and I must say it was a completely unpleasant experience from the start.
I called to book an appointment, expecting a courteous and accommodating service. Boy, was I wrong. Muyiwa's tone was rusty and unfriendly from the get-go. When I tried to explain that we were running slightly late due to traffic, he became increasingly rude and dismissive. Despite our apologetic explanation, he refused to reschedule the appointment, citing that he didn't have his calendar on him.
To make matters worse, when I asked if he could offer any alternative times, he simply repeated "I'll get to you when I'm ready" in a tone that was anything but apologetic. It was clear that his only concern was his own schedule, not the customer's needs.
Needless to say, we will not be returning to 1111 Studewood, and I would advise anyone else to steer clear of this establishment. Muyiwa's attitude is unacceptable, and it's clear that customer service is not a priority for this business.
Please do yourself a favor and book a better venue.

The food was mid. My duck breast had decent flavor, but i was chewing for what felt like, days. My green dragon roll was really mayo heavy. Service, meh. I think either it was our waitress' first week or she was stoned. She kept forgetting our drinks, food, etc. Every time we'd follow up on an order.or just a lemon or fork. she'd have this confused look on her face as if she didn't recall us ordering/asking for anything. Hard pass on this place.

I had a surprise engagement party here last weekend and can’t say enough good things about this venue and the staff. The event coordinator Muyiwa was fantastic — very communicative/responsive and genuinely just there to help make sure you get the event of your dreams. We had about 45 people in total, using the in-house catering and all my guests raved about the food. Our bartender was great, and the rules around decorating etc were very reasonable. The space itself is awesome and perfect for parties of really any scale. Highly recommend!!

I attended a wedding at 1111 Studewood recently and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that professionalism and courtesy were lacking. I was there to set up and personally saw this lack of professionalism.Firstly, the day of event manager's attire was completely inappropriate for such an occasion, wearing a crop top which gave off a very unprofessional vibe. It was disheartening to see her asleep upon our arrival with the other vendors and showing a lack of dedication to her role. Throughout the event, she was dismissive and unhelpful, which is unacceptable for someone in her position. The service provided by the bartenders was equally disappointing. Not only were they unprepared, setting up only 30 minutes prior to the event, but their demeanor was far from accommodating. Despite their lackluster attitude, they still expected generous tips, which was surprising given the quality of service provided.Furthermore, the overall execution of the venue fell short of expectations. Despite promises of a well-organized setup, the tables were not adequately arranged, and it was evident that corners had been cut in the package deal. The day of event manager's attitude extended beyond just guests, as she was also rude to other vendors such as the DJ and cake person, creating a negative atmosphere throughout the event.Ultimately, I would caution anyone considering 1111 Studewood for their special day. It's clear that the current management prioritizes profit over the happiness and vision of the bride and groom. Unless significant improvements are made, I would advise looking elsewhere for a venue that truly cares about making your wedding day memorable for all the right reasons. The only redeeming quality of this venue is its rooftop view of the city, but unfortunately, that alone is not enough to justify the lackluster experience provided.

I love Studewood cantina. My boyfriend introduced me to this place on our first date. And it's been our favorite spot since.

I had the Mexican Bowl (with Carnitas) and it didn't disappoint, very savory. The staff was marginally more attentive. My tea was brought promptly but when I asked for sweetener I was told there wasn't any! Shortly afterwards she apparently did ask about the sweetener and brought me some. When it came to finishing the meal, the bartender was engaged in chatting with a regular and had her back to me, so again, a longer than typical wait to pay up.
