I had an extremely terrible experience with the customer services in the Lowe’s Bunker Hill location on 2/3/2024 around 12pm. I was trying to return a few shrub risers that were completely unused. I didn’t have the receipt. Lowe’s usually issues store credit for situations like this. However the guy (his name is Luv) over the return counter said Lowe’s had changed the return policy and no longer issues store credit. Luv pointed to the return policy on the wall with store credit provision scrapped. I tried to explain to him this was a significant change of the tradition and Lowe’s should have tried to communicate to its customers that it now requires receipt for refund. At this point, Luv quickly became very impatient and rude. He said it was not his problem and I should talk to the corporate. Then he told me he didn’t have all day like I did, and just walked away. I checked other reviews, there were quite a few customers who had the similar experience. I gathered this probably is the culture in Lowe’s nowadays and employees like Luv must feel they could treat customers however they want. I was so disappointed, I has been a regular customer of this store for last 10 years but I doubt I would ever go back there.

Today I needed metric furniture screws--flat socket-headed 4cm, 6mm diameter, with matching barrel nuts. Well, selection was very limited. Ended up with 0.25" 2 inch standard phillips head screws with matching barrel head nuts. Not perfect, but we got a solution. Only about 25 to 30% of specialty hardware bins had anything in them. Marginal hardware inventory.

The employees here are all super nice. This one nice lady at the checkout area always helps look up my account for me and fix any issues with checkout.

Curbside fulfillment is inept. Waited 20 min and eventually walked inside and they proceeded to explain to me WHY I WAS WRONG and that I HAD NOT CHECKED IN when my name was listed ON THE BOARD with a 20 min wait next to it... Not real smart. 0 stars.

Standard Lowes, but maybe a bit bigger. Standard set of tool selection; large lumber aisles; pretty standard building supplies, appliances and gardening. Same semi-present, mostly hard to find customer service, with limited knowledge of the products on the shelves unless you find one of the few specialists. Everything you need to keep your casa in shape and looking good...but good luck if you need any lumber cut or paint mixed.

The self service check out has gotten outrageous and I am sick of it. I am going to start going somewhere that offers service. I was trying to buy pressure treated lumber and concrete retaining wall blocks for my vegetable garden. I also had some rebar to hold the blocks in place.1) I wanted 2x6x8 pressure treated wood, because that is the size of the block, but I couldn't find it. I also couldn't find anyone to help me find it. I decided to just get 2x8x8, so I could get on with my project.2) I get to checkout and all there is is self service. First the blocks have no price tags of any sort. I happened to have the item on my phone because I looked it up before I came. The overworked person told me I had to enter in the 7 digit item number. So I did. Next the rebar didn'thave a tag. She told me again that I needed a number, to which I replied, "How am I supposed to know the number of every items here. I do not work here." She replied that she did work here and that I needed an item number to check out. I told her that I quit and walked out to find a place that can help me with what should be easy issues.

Lowe’s consistently sets the bar for poor customer service, and demonstrates that they are not interested in working with profesional contractors. Phone sales are nearly impossible during the week, and on weekends not offered at all.

Tried to buy some paint. Waited at the paint counter no one around. Asked the two workers, who could see I was waiting for a while, if anyone around. One of them called for some, but no one showed up. Finally tired of waiting I left. When to Home Depot got helped right away.

A home improvement store that doesn’t want to sell their products. My husband and I have been frequently shopping at Lowe’s for our home renovation needs and to utilize their veteran discount. Today (October 29) I found some Jasco Liquid Mask and Seal on clearance with a tag price of $16.17, but when I went to checkout, it rang up for much less and was told I couldn’t buy it. Confused, I accepted the offer to speak to a manager. It took a couple of calls for a manager, and an extended wait with the understanding and helpful cashier. Luv, the “manager”, finally showed up and regurgitated the same message the system produced. This person provided no solution other than a statement that the products cannot be sold. My husband even offered to pay the clearance price to be reasonable, but as noted, was given no solution. Why have these items on the shelf if you’re not going to sell it? What’s even more ironic is that the manager placed the items right back into the return cart - does that even make any sense?Either train your management team on what customer service means, or do a better job with inventory. Sorely disappointed, and will definitely reconsider ever returning to Lowe’s.
