Went to the E.R. with chest pain, dizziness and shortness of breath. After eight hours I was discharged without a prognosis. Go see a cardiologist they said. They even gave me the names of some cardiologist. Went in needing medical attention and left the hospital needing medical attention. I was never given a prognosis.

This is the worst hospital system I have ever been to!!!! The Drs are ill equipped, completely incompetent and the hospital and emergency room are deployable. If you value your life or a family's members life do not take them there!!!!!!

My friend was having a ectopic pregnancy and the STUPID nurses told her to just go home to rest that she was gonna be okay, 30 min later in Methodist they told her that she was about to pass away due to all of the internal bleeding. SMH

They are great, unless you want the Doctor to care whether you live or die or want the specialist you begged and waited 14 hours for a referral for to take your insurance. Good luck, I hope you survive

While their service and care was very good, their billing department seriously lacks. I have been undergoing treatment for breast cancer. I have multiple bills from various procedures and tests, including surgery. I have been responsible in paying these bills as best I can( I have a 7500 out of pocket which I met within 2 months of treatment). I have attempted to consolidate all bills to set up a payment plan. It was declined due to the fact that I received services at several locations. Memorial Hermann is one system. All bills come and go to the same place. I am now being sent duplicate bills that I have set up payment plans for demanding full payment at once despite the fact I have made payments. Such a lack of compassion.

My mother was brought to the ER with trouble breathing, a fever, high heart rate & high blood pressure. They diagnosed her with pneumonia and bronchitis. She was admitted to the hospital and received subpar treatment. The doctor ordered treatments and someone, other than the doctor, discontinued the orders for the treatments. Specifically treatments for nebulizers and antibiotics to cure the pneumonia and bronchitis. When we told the doctor this, she had no idea. She did not know who discontinued her orders. It is not very comforting for a doctor to order treatments and then someone other than the doctor cancel the treatments. That sounds a lot like malpractice to me. On her fourth day in the hospital, the doctor said that one side of her lungs sounded better, but the other side sounded very inflamed. On the fifth day, they decided to discharge her. She still has trouble with a deep cough and she doesn't have the strength to walk down the hall and never received the treatments that the doctor ordered. We started a protest with the hospital as we were asked to sign a form for this exact situation on the second day of her stay. The situation stating "if you are being discharged, and do not feel that you are medically ready to go home you can protest to continue your stay in the hospital. The same social worker came in again today and told us that it is a futile effort to protest. Most likely the team of doctors that will be reviewing her case will deny her request. She also informed us that if the protest is denied, she will be charged over $2000 for her stay because we protested. So, on the second day, they asked us to sign this form, and on the fifth day, they told us the form is most likely going to be denied. What was the point of signing the form? My worry is that taking her home and having something happen medically is going to cause us to again call the ambulance and bring her right back to the hospital. After weighing our options of this idiotic situation, we have decided that it would be financially better to be discharged and come back to the hospital, in another ambulance, if needed. Insurance will pay for another trip but not to finish the job at hand. I don't know anyone who has $2000 burning a hole in their pocket to stay in a hospital. What is insurance for? What are the monthly premiums for? This has been a very stressful situation. There are other hospitals and I hope that they will have a better system if we have to seek medical help again. We will not be back to this hospital as they don't give us the impression that they care about their patients. Avoid this place like the plague. If you have the plague, I would urge you to think twice about coming to this hospital. Update: just went to the pharmacy to pick up meds and the doctor ordered different medication than she told us. This hospital tells their patients one thing and does something else. My Mother is a retired Registered Nurse. She worked for 50 years in many different departments of the hospital and in a surgery center in Houston. She is completely disgusted with the medical industry of today...as am I.

My dad was admitted here. Horrible care. Sat all night in ER until 6am waiting for a room. The PA in the ER couldn't advise him on stopping a blood thinner when he had bled for 7 hours straight. She refused to give him advice instead of offering to find out the answer for my 81 year old father. They were supposed to measure his hematoma every hour all night which is why they kept him overnight but they never did it once. He was moved to a room and no nurse came to tell him how to call for help (he was stuck in bed). I had to call the nurse station and tell.them he was in the room for half an hour. They had no idea he was there. The attending doctor wouldn't answer 2 pages and didn't come and see my dad until night time. Horrible care.

From the moment I walked in until the minute I was wheeled out after my knee surgery the staff was friendly, caring, courteous and professional. Every step of the way was explained to me and every question I asked was answered with attention and detail. Even my pre-Admit appointment went flawlessly and put me at ease. I would highly recommend and wouldn't go anywhere else in Houston! Exceeded my every expectation!!!!

be very careful and only get admitted if absolutely necessary. it's nearly impossible to get them to sign a discharge for you. beware.

I had surgery April 29th by Tuesday May 2nd I was in so much pain that I could barely walk. I was never offered a wheelchair. I got there at or around 4pm I was in a level 9 pain and I was made to wait in the waiting room for 5 hours. I was not called to the back for a room til almost 9pm. Can you imagine being in pain so bad you can't walk in a waiting area for 5 hours in pain. That was crazy never have i ever been in pain that bad and had to wait in the waiting room for 5 hours. Not to mention the practitioner from the triage ordered a CT scan a young man came out called my names out ( One time) I was struggling to get up out my chair and walk to him but he just left and walk out I go up to the front to tell the front desk and they laughed called to the back and tells me he will be back in a bit. When he does finally come back and takes he back he wouldn't even help me out the wheelchair to get on the table.I don't recommend anyone coming here in your in a lot a pain. It's literally a first come first serve weather your bleeding or in pain or whatever. You just have to wait line like that rest.

My mother was taken to this ER by ambulance. Once there the ER doctor said she needed to be admitted. They kept her for 4 days getting her stabilized. They never had a specialist related to her issue look at her. I requested to speak to the doctor every day but he didn't call until the 4th day, and then it was to tell me they couldn't find what was causing her problems and they were going to discharge her with a referral to a specialist. They also never once bathed her and even though I handed them my mothers medications and had her pharmacist fax the list she was never given her regular medications. Once home, I called to schedule an appointment with the specialist but the earliest appointment was over two weeks out. I worked with her PCP but we couldn't find anything sooner with anyone in Houston. Because they just pushed my mother out without finding the source of her problem we had to have her readmitted to (another) hospital. Her problem had become so much worse she is now in the ICU. If you care for your friends and family do not bring them to Memorial City. Apparently they are only interested in helping as long as it generates money but once it is found to be more complex they toss you out and say good luck. I tried to file a grievance but they said they had to actually talk to my mother who was still weak and disoriented. No one ever called back even after they spoke to her. I finally heard from them after a month to say my mothers care was within standards. They truly do not care.

Nurses on the neurology unit are rude and mean to both patients and families. I did not appreciate the way we were treated.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars, that would still be too many! Just the absolute worst experience and care in Houston. The staff is rude and shows an arrogant lack of respect. Their ER rooms are dirty. There were numerous staff members playing games, watching TikTok videos and scrolling through other social media sites on their phones in the nurses' station. I was there with my 95-year-old aunt, who had become unconscious and rushed to their ER at Memorial City. Their complete indifference to trying to understand her medical issues and history was mind-blowing. They handled her roughly and she kept screaming out in pain as they aggressively examined her. I then waited for over 2 hours to talk to a doctor, and still no doctor. I tried calling their main switchboard (713-242-3000) for over 90 minutes and only ever got a message that said: "You have reached the operator station. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to answer your call at this time. Please try your call again later." TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. Please do yourself a huge favor and AVOID this place like you would the plague. Otherwise, you will be surrounded by gross incompetence!!!

It's been months since last year close to Christmas my babygirl was pregnant and was having a miscarriage as soon we got there one of the nurses said a ugly comment she said she on her days. When that was happening my girl was bleeding out bleeding puddles had her waiting for good 30 min freaking 30 minutes not till they notice my babygirl was passing out they wouldn't let me in I was outside looking at her in pain scared and nobody was doing anything and to have people do there job it was one of the worst experience because my girl could've passed away if it wasn't for the nurses who work who actually love doing there job helping people. It's so frustrating knowing that they could've help her earlier knowing that this people could've done something I don't recommend nobody this hospital if you pregnant they make you wait in the emergency unlike the other memorials they take you in I don't recommend the nurses and doctors here it was one of the saddest thing that I have experience something like this. We don't feel comfortable with this hospital we don't feel comfortable with the staffs I hope this is helpful for the people who think about going to this hospital they don't do nothing about the staffs to replace them or train them again how to actually be professional and decent. I wanted to make this known it's been a year and I can't ever forget what this hospital put us through especially my girl. I don't need the hospital to answer the me again about my experience what I want is you guys to do something about your staffs and make this hospital better .
