A MUST visit!
The Kinder building has so much to offer for views of art in different forms and includes two gorgeous tunnels, one being an actual entrance to the museum! I come here every time the Museum of Fine Arts is free on Thursdays and it’s always worth it!
I wonder if one day I could even work as a tour guide here with how much I visit LOL

This is the third building of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston complex, and a very helpful addition to the area as it adds a lot of parking options and cafe/restaurant space. A cafe may not be the first thing you think of when you think of art museums, but a cafe makes it easier to plan your visit for actually going to the museum.Aside from the building itself, the gallery spaces are much larger rooms than in the Beck building (the second newest building), so it seems to have more flexibility for the kinds of pieces that can be shown. As usual, all of the art at MFAH is great, and you can easily spend a day or two at the various buildings and outdoor areas.

The Nancy and Rich Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts is a testament to contemporary artistic expression. As the newest addition to the museum, it stands tall with a remarkable collection of modern art pieces that captivate visitors with their innovation and creativity.
This architectural gem not only houses a diverse range of modern artworks but also serves as a dynamic space where artistic boundaries are pushed. The collection within reflects a fusion of styles, mediums, and cultural influences, providing a vivid narrative of the evolution of modern art.
From bold sculptures to thought-provoking installations, the Kinder Building invites patrons to explore and engage with the ever-evolving landscape of contemporary art. It adds a vibrant chapter to the museum's legacy, offering a unique and enriching experience for art enthusiasts and visitors alike.

So the museum in general is very cool. Unfortunately our visit was spoiled by the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, well, more like by the ridiculous rules. So they allow you only 1 minute inside (the staff member stands outside with a stopwatch). Basically you just wait in line, rush in, take like five photos and go out.1) you are lucky if you are able to take 1 good photo; you have NO TIME to check the photo you took!2) you can’t enjoy the art because you are not allowed to contemplate, it not even for a few minutes. What’s the point having the exhibit there? Also at the entrance of the Kinder building there was a person with a camera who appeared in every photo. He just stood there ?♀️All in all the art is great, but the Yayoi Kusama left me disappointed.

I love this museum. I have visited it five times now, and the artwork inside is truly amazing. Additionally, the security guards are very friendly and always willing to help.

Great museum with impressive collection and exhibitions. A little tricky to navigate if it’s your first time but very helpful staff to show you the way.

The theatre was very lovely but navigating the building itself is a bit of a nightmare. Also, the light installation at this time was an awful experience since I ended feeling a bit nauseated walking through it. Loved the paper dragon installation though.
