It’s sad to share that this experience with all of its hiccups was a snooty, preventable mess.
Was previously a client several times over the years when Maryam first opened on Post Oak & also brought 4 friends here, plus recommended many over the years, too.
Booked an appt. Showed up 5-10 mins ahead of time. Was hard to find the location, looked for a standout sign on the building. Spent a good 5 mins searching until there was one spotted on the sidewalk.
1. Receptionist, Tye, greeted — mistaking & calling me for someone else. It wasn’t until I corrected Tye that it clicked. Ok…
2. Tye was further confused as to what was my appt & the time. Then stated there was no booking, blaming technology “messed” it up. Ok…
I asked if my preferred nail tech was still available as discussed previously while booking over phone. Tye said yeah & literally booked the appt in front of me. Ok…
3. After I returned from the ladies room, Tye left me hanging. No communication, just went off somewhere for a good several mins.
I am pretty aware of this salon’s timeliness policy. Wish they follow the same for clients.
I took a seat in front since 2 nail techs & some pretty snooty clients were staring me down. (Yes, I’m not white. Yes. I can afford Paloma. Yes. It’ll all be ok).
4. Then suddenly Tye shows up again. Says to follow to the mani area, with body language vibes like I AM the awkward one 😂…Ok…
After a few more mins, a nail tech who had been looking at me shows up & starts my service. Apologizes at 3:26 PM (as per my phone time), for being late to the 3:15 PM appt. [Also, I noted that the mani area clocks are about 10 mins fast].
5. A few mins into my service, nail tech apologized stating I’m not her client. She stepped away. Ok…
6. After some more mins, the nail tech I asked for during phone booking arrived.
7. Agree with other reviewers who noted how uncomfortable the manicure area chairs are. I think they are the same since this establishment began.
Good luck to this establishment. It’s one thing to pride one’s business based on non-toxic products. It’s another to let inhospitable employee behaviors & the generally snooty atmosphere & vibe of this place slide on by.

Paloma has completely raised the bar for what a salon experience should be. The space is aesthetically stunning, everything feels very well thought out, and the vibe is relaxing. Their use of non-toxic and gentle products is a huge plus for me, and I never feel like I’m compromising my health for beauty. Bonus: They offer refreshments during services which makes it feel even more luxurious. Definitely worth every penny!

Paloma continues to exceed my expectations every single visit. This place has become my personal sanctuary. The aesthetic is elegant and calming, the location is super convenient, and I love that they’re committed to using non-toxic products—it makes such a difference. What keeps me coming back, though, is the team. The front desk staff is always so warm, organized, and attentive. The nail techs are truly artists—detail-oriented, sweet, and so professional. Management runs the salon flawlessly; you can tell they care deeply about the client experience. They even offer refreshments during services, which just adds to the luxury. Paloma isn’t just a salon, it’s an experience—and I consider myself a loyal client. Thank you Paloma for being the best salon in Houston! 😘😘

Paloma is a dream. The location is great, the interior is stunning, and the vibe is so peaceful and welcoming. What really sets it apart is the team—the front desk is so friendly and helpful, the nail techs are talented and patient, and management truly goes above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly. Paloma is officially my new personal favorite salon! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and professionalism. The front desk staff is incredibly sweet and hardworking—they make you feel like a VIP every time. The nail techs are detailed, gentle, and truly care about your comfort. Paloma is a hidden gem! The location is absolutely perfect—easy to get to and surrounded by great vibes. The salon itself is gorgeous inside, super aesthetic and calming. I also love that they use non-toxic, gentle products so I never worry about harsh chemicals on my skin or nails. Prices are totally fair for the quality, and they even offer refreshments during your service.

UPDATE: the staff rectified the situation and they are back to being my one and only salon. Great customer service!
I’ve attended for a few years now. Always 5 star. With the exception of my last appointment. It was a mani pedi combo.
My pedi : I nicked my big toe while moving my legs for the technician to move the big black water bowl. She kinda groaned, took everything off my big toe and only added one coat of the color. I thought she’d come back but didn’t.
The ambiance has also changed. I get that the nail techs want to chat. But my two ladies where chatting to each other the entire time. It wasn’t very relaxing.
After I left the salon and got inside my car, I noticed my gel manicure had ridges. The quality just isn’t what I’m used to. I thought it smooth out with the heat so I moved on. But I was wrong.
I contacted the store via text but nothing was done about it.
I think I’ll just stick to the River Oaks location moving forward. Hopefully I’ll get better service there.

I first fell in love six years ago, and they have been consistent each time.
This is one of the few nail salons that does not have fungus spreading jets. Let’s demand better ladies!
From the moment you walk in, Paloma sets itself apart from the competition. The decor is simple and elegant. I feel like I stepped into an editorial magazine shoot. Even the air is different. I can count on one hand the number of nail salons in Houston you can walk into without feeling light headed or feeling like you will have lung cancer by the time you leave. Y'all had me at non toxic, from the air to the polish brands, and products for sale, it's giving mini day spa.
The receptionist, Ty, is attentive and just a wonderful energy, truly delivering customer service, which is rare these days. And I have very high standards. Between the playlist and oversized chairs I could hardly stay awake. Their nail techs take their time. I felt well taken care of and valued as a customer. I've yet to have a bad experience.
I've read a few of the less stellar reviews and was surprised. They have low turn over and very experienced technicians. Ty looked up the last service I had over a year ago and that person, Theresa is still employed with the company. (A friend of mine opened a nail salon so I was supporting her for a few years but now that she has closed it, I am back at Paloma.)
My pedicures hold up well. If I have to go to another salon in a nail crisis, I normally put another top coat on when I get home. But not at Paloma. I haven't ever had any issues with chipping, but if I'm not mistaken they have a policy where you can come back in for a touch up/redo if something happens within a set period of time.
I had Michele for my pedicure. Loved her. The River Oaks location is top tier as well. The only problem is...we need more Paloma locations! Thank you for a wonderful experience 💅 P.S.: thank you for the discount in exchange for the review, it shows you value your customers’ time.

Epic! Fantastic experience, couldn’t recommend more highly. I get my nails done in London fortnightly and this doesn’t compare. The service was brilliant, Holly (nail technician) took so much time and care, attention to detail was brilliant and super happy with the outcome! Will be back !!!
