POST Houston is a redevelopment of the historic Barbara Jordan Post Office in downtown Houston's Theater District. The massive 550,000+ square foot building, used by the U.S. government from 1936-2014, now houses one of the world's largest rooftop parks and farms, a concert venue, and a variety of retail and office concepts including restaurants, bars, an international market hall, and flexible co-working spaces. Designed by the renowned architecture firm OMA, the development aims to revitalize the city's north downtown neighborhoods with a vibrant, mixed-use environment combining arts, entertainment, creative workspaces, dining, and shopping. Reviewers praise the diverse food options, from delicious Filipino cuisine at Soy Pinoy to high-quality kebabs and bolani at Choopan Kabab. The rooftop views are described as wonderful, both during the day and at night. Visitors enjoy the lively events and concerts hosted at the venue, though some find the parking fees to be a downside of the downtown location. Overall, POST Houston is praised as a great selfie spot, date night destination, and hub for the arts, entertainment, and dining in the heart of the city.
We love popping in to POST for the great variety of foods and the iconic rooftop view of downtown. If you can go on a weekday/non Holiday, it's not expensive to use the paid parking lot.
