I will not revisit this restaurant as I found everything about it to be of poor quality. The food, ambiance, and service were all surprisingly subpar.

Group of 9 friends ( with or without hair, definitely eligible for AARP) descended on Ranosh. Enjoyed the food…kebabs, chicken, fajitas fresh crispy bread ( upon request) falafel and more.

We ordered fajita, but it cooked plenty of peppers and onions without beef.

I am almost a regular at this location. But recently there is a sharp decline in the servise quality. The waiter’s are usually unreachable after the first order. They walk around looking at the floor, so that they do not see someone calling. The charcoal wuys became terrible, now the weakest point of Ranosh cafe. They check hookahs very seldomly, you have to catch someone somewhere and ask for charcoal several times. And last 3-4 weeks they bring the charcoal under-burnt so you smell and inhale the charcoal directly, not the hookah. They come almost in black condition. And when you ask them anything they do bot like to help. They say I don’t know and go. Because I cannot see the waiters around, when I catch the charcoal guy, I ask him to send a waiter, he nefer cares and I keep waiting.. So sad how the service here became recently :( They still have great food though.

If you’re looking for a shawarma this is not the place. It’s definitely not the shaved meat instead it looked like brisket. We ordered a chicken also but neither had flavor. Basically it’s a hookah place. The rice and meat plates were better. Also check in at the front if you need a waiter right away. Tip is included in the bill.

Great food, good service but very poor hookah service. I can still smell the non-burnt black charcoals. I smoked them all night and they dis not fix it.

Been coming here for a long while, one of my favorite hookah bars. It's just not staying competitive: parking is more difficult at Ranosh. The new tables on the patio are pretty bad -- you can't pull your chair in. And in the inside they allow smoking in the big room. I hope they fix this. It's bad business: people shouldn't be allowed to smoke cigars and cigarettes. The hookah is great.
* It's the best patio experience in Houston. Unfortunately, it's just too hot for that in the summer. The patio is a 10/10. Natural trees, laid back, fenced off from the road. Come here when the weather is nice and you want to sit on the patio.
* The non-smoking room isn't the same experience. It's a 3/10. It's more for families.
* The big room inside is a coin-toss between being my favorite thing in Houston and ruined by a cigar smoke. When it has cigar smokers, I'll actually leave. When there are no cigar smokers it's 10/10 when there are no cigar smokers, and cigarette smokers. They put 4 air conditioner units in the big room. It fights Houston heat really well, but I'll take the old hot-and-musty room without the cigar smoke. Different strokes for different folks.
Hookah smoke isn't cigarette and cigar smoke. Even if they're just as bad for you, one of them has tar and additives and sticks to your clothes. Hookah smoke smells fruity and great -- most people that don't smoke like it or aren't bothered by it; but, it's ruined by the taste of cigars 20 feet away. My friends also refuse to come here for the same reason. I wouldn't come here to smoke hookah inside. The cigar and cigarette smoke also has the effect of driving away all the women (and most of the people born and raised in the USA, where we don't eat near cigar smokers).
On the subject of food, it's pretty solid. They don't sell much, but what they do sell is really great. That's how it should be. Avoid the salads outside of Friday/Saturday, ymmv. But the Chicken Tawook, Mixed Grill, and Chicken Shawarma are always a home run. It's easy to explain why the food here is better, Ranosh makes its own bread. That makes a huge difference. You'll never get a tortilla wrap here. Probably the best Chicken Shawarma in Houston.

Food is good. Atmosphere is nice. Service is slow even tho the place was not busy! I will definitely order to go. They raised the prices a-little bit. But inflation is affecting everyone
