Never use the pick up here. I've waited more than 30 minutes multiple times. I won't be using this Kroger ever in the future.

NEVER AGAIN. My pick up order was cancelled AGAIN - that's twice in 3 weeks and 3 times this year. No call, no notice, no explanation. They clearly do not understand how insanely this inconveniences people. This literally impacts my entire day. Had I had some notice, I could have made plans. Last straw. Taking my business to H‑E‑B.

Preface - This Kroger location has a small bar in the middle of the store. My issue is really just with the bartender that was working the evening of 5/8/23. Granted, we walked up to the bar ~5 min before the 8pm "closing." The bartender let us look at the drink menu, scan the drink board, everything--before telling us they closed in 2 minutes, she had already cleaned up, and she had counted her register. Pretty subpar customer service. The bar closes at 8, we were there ordering before 8. Seems like an easy call to just let us buy a couple of drinks while we walk the store.

The staff here is attentive, friendly and smiley. From the check out people to the lady security guard. Thank you for what you do! It is a big Kroger too! Bigger is always better!

Do not buy gift cards from this location of Krogers. They are selling fake gift cards and are not backing them up. I am out of 100.00, and the store manager is not taking responsibility. I bought the card 10 minutes ago, and it has "already" been used. The pharmacy is the only good part of this store.

I shop at this Kroger location simply because it's convenient. It's the closest grocery store around me but I avoid it as much as possible. I was making a home made Caesar dressing and I didn't have any mustard and anchovy paste, so I figured I'd run over to Kroger in a flash and get my ingredients, finish my Caesar dressing and Bob's your uncle! "In a flash" turned into an hour searching for two very common ingredients specially in a diverse market as Houston. First, they've rearrange everything and it's hard to find where the usual ingredients are re-located. It took me a good bit of time to find the dijon mustard since there are no f****** signs that tells you which aisle the CONDIMENTS are located. I started looking for my next ingredient, the anchovy paste. Well, it wasn't in the Italian aisle where it's normally and logically stocked together with the pasta and tomato sauces - it's not there but I found tubes of tomato paste. I checked the salad dressing section and it isn't there either. I checked the bottled olives section to see if it may be there but no luck. Perhaps it's in the tinned fish aisle, and no they didn't have tubes of anchovy paste (like they have listed in the Kroger website). I finally asked an employee to help me locate it, she looked it up in her fancy schmancy super Kroger missing ingredient finder... she can't find the "anchovie paste". According to her they don't sell it. The reason she can't find it is because she can't f****** spell properly. I finally found a manager and asked where can I find the anchovy paste that was shown in the store website from my phone. Well he can't find it either even with the help of his Kroger app/gadget. F****** useless knob. It turns out they have f*** all anchovy paste in stock/store, but you can buy one online for delivery or pickup. I wasted my time for nothing. I ended up going to HEB a few blocks away and got the mustard and the anchovy paste (in the Italian section/aisle) without any problems. Kroger, get your act together. Sometimes their discounted products (with Kroger card) do not ring up discounted even when purchased with Kroger card. What a shite service!

I never write reviews and I especially hate to leave a bad one. But this Kroger sucks. They have THE worst customer service of any grocery store I've ever been to. You can smile at an employee and they'll just look at you like -_- People have literally posted about this location in my NextDoor app and at the time everyone was going off about how terrible it is, I thought "It's just a grocery store... get over it." Well, then I had a truly terrible experience of my own. And let me preface this review by saying I KNOW it's not the end of the world, I understand it's not worth crying over, but this is about PRINCIPLE. I've been in customer service ever since I joined the workforce at 15 years old and I would never treat customers this way. They have a habit of rushing people out before they're closed. I've worked in customer service and I know that some customers will literally just meander around like they own the place, with no regard for the hours, for the employees time and personal lives. However, this location often cuts customers off before actual closing time (as early as ten minutes before on one trip) and is super rude about it. I was there recently, close to closing time because of life. After my experience, a man on cart duty in the parking lot said "Come earlier next time so you can get everything you need." I told him, "I run a group home for adults with mental illness, and in addition to that I have a separate 9 to 5**, and I'm a single mom-- so it's hard." (**which is actually 7:30-5:30, and an hour away, but 9 to 5 is just a common colloquialism) And he pretty much cut me off, threw his hands in front of himself, and real sarcastically said "Oh no, a 9 to 5! Say no more!" So leading up to that parking lot exchange-- I'm in the store about 20 minutes before closing and I am RUSHING around, so if anyone had seen me they would know that I had no intention of meandering and taking my sweet time. Eventually they come on the loud speakers and announce they're closing. I grab a loaf of bread and swing around to head down the aisle toward the back, where the eggs are. But instead I'm met with a security guard walking toward me. "You need to head to the front, we're closed." I said, "I just need eggs." He says again, "You need to go to the front-- we are closed." I pulled my phone out and showed him the time. 10:58PM (on an iPhone, which universally has the correct time, always.) I technically had two minutes left with which to go grab my final item. He just kept moving toward me. He got so close to me I was physically uncomfortable and honestly felt threatened into turning around. (And by the way he wasn't wearing a mask) I asked, "Are you serious? Honestly I just need to grab eggs, that's it" But he just got closer and closer until he was right up on me and I was forced to turn around and head toward the front of the store. The fact that I had been visibly hurrying, and technically had two minutes left to grab a single item, in a store that was not at all busy, and his only reaction was to bully me to the front is really unacceptable. If the situation were reversed, I easily would have allowed the customer to quickly go grab their item. If I were THAT worried, I would have offered to escort them to the eggs to ensure they didn't stop for anything else along the way there or back. It's not hard to provide decent customer service and make customers feel appreciated. I would have been SO thankful, apologizing and thanking him simultaneously the entire time-- and it would have stuck out to me as one of those moments where you're treated like more than a dollar sign. It doesn't take much at all to make a repeat customer for life. I spend SO MUCH MONEY in that store each month ... it's the only place we shop. But not anymore. I threw a bit of an audible fit and told them I'd rather start driving twenty minutes to HEB than ever give K

The closest grocery store to the house. It's usually a choice between this for the HEB up the road. This store is dated and a little bit messy/ old, especially when compared to HEB. However, it works, it's fine, and Krogers tend to have daily or weekly specials unlike HEB. Not the best service but good enough.

The curbside pick up system is absolutely awful. Each time I've picked up my order I wait minimum 30 minutes for my order. This is supposed to be about convenience and it's actually super inconvenient. On top of that, the curbside team is rude and always has an attitude. I'll go to HEB to pick up my groceries instead.

Very disappointed, went to do my regular grocery shopping once I'm checking out they tell me their system is not working and can't take my rewards number. I wasted 2 hours, gas and just to be told they could not help me. When call to speak to manager I was told he was in meetings all day and he was a very busy man. Also is it me or do they always try to push you to do self check out. It's like Kroger's trying to get employees for free. They only have one cashier and usually without a bagger. They want us customer sto ring ourselves out and bag our own stuff? Not only are we spending money by shopping there but you also asking us to work for free?!

I can't remember if I have been to this Shepard Kroger store, since I don't visit The Heights often. I was here because of Kroger Fuel and Kroger Rewards. I saved 80 cents per gallon or $10.50 for this fill-up. It was a scorching day. Temperature at about 100 degrees. Yeah, my bald head needed to cool off after standing in the sun pumping gas. The store gave me a wow effect. Everything is stocked up. There was not an empty shelf where I went. I didn't come here for my weekly grocery shopping because I was running errands. I don't want my groceries to be roasted with me in my car. Produce section is fully stocked. I guess Kroger is back to business. (I had to confirm it at my usual Kroger store at Elmside. Otherwise, were in trouble.) It might be the lightning. Everything was visibly fresher than other stores. No kidding. I will be back for a thorough shopping trip in a few weeks.

My aunt purchased a gift card for Academy from this store on June 24. She mailed it to me. While it was in the mail, the card was redeemed on July 1 before we received it. I contacted the manager of this store, Dave, and being no help at all, informed me that he would check to see if his cards were tampered with and to contact Academy to resolve the issue. I contacted Academy and they informed me that I needed the 4 digit pin that is on the back of the card. The card I received only has a 2 digit pin however. The Academy representative told me that I needed to contact Kroger with the receipt and get the 4 digit pin. I called and spoke to Dave, again, and he informed me that he does not have anything to do with gift cards and to contact 1-800-KROGERS. I have contacted the number he gave me and they informed me that they do not help with gift cards and that I needed to call yet another number. DO NOT BUY ANY GIFT CARDS at this store. Someone is stealing them. Also, do not go to this store if you ever want help resolving a problem because Dave, the manager, will not do anything to help.

I have no issues with the store itself. My problem is with the Pharmacy. I have been getting my prescriptions filled here for a year. When filling the prescription by phone, if it has expired, they give you an option asking if you would like them to contact the doctor's office. It doesn't happen. I have experienced this a few times. I have had to call the doctor's office and ask them to refill or sort out the issues. ( I was prescribed a medication. However, with my insurance, the generic brand is free. So when the prescription was written the rx number was for the brand name medication. Since it was switched to the generic, the pharmacy didn't give this generic medication a new RX number. So when I call the refill in, the phone system says it has expired, when in reality it hasn't. I have a year's worth of refills.) Yesterday I experienced the same run around as last month. Talked to the doctor's office, and explained the situation. Doctor's office called back to say that apparently the pharmacy said they had talked to me (did not happen) and had the prescription filled. Next call to the pharmacy who said the prescription was getting filled. When questioned about what they told the doctor's office, they said they had already filled it out. I asked to speak to the manager. She came on and did not give me her name when asked. She called herself the Pharmacy manager which I highly doubt because of the conversation that ensued. The venom with which my questions were answered and defensiveness of this person severely lacked bed side manner. I was shocked and surprised by the tone of voice and insinuations made. VERY, disappointed by their customer service. Needless to say, I will not be filling prescriptions here anymore. PS. I picked up the refill. This time I had the right number of pills and the RX number had finally been changed.
