Ive lived in Houston for all my life. Never been charged here until recently. Understandable. Alot of tourists so thats a opportunity to make money. Im not a tourist.
I pay. Walk and in and was givin no information about the theme of the night. Wasnt directed to a table, but i did find one. 10 minutes passed when i realized i paid to get in but nobody asked if i wantef to order anything since there is no bar. After finally flagging somebody down i was served and over charged.
After finallt getting ready to leave. I felt a weird vibe from the time i walked in until i walked. And if course.. my E300 merceded benz has been hit while parked and security saw the people speed off. I was told to come back the next day for the footage. When i came back i was then told by the owner the cameras dont work đ so when asking for the next solution his response in a strong Latin accent... its not my problem. Havent been back since... but i wont forgive or forget.

Thatâs a really bad execution of Cuban food, Congri was drowned in oil, I could taste the oil more than anything else. Cordero asado was tasteless and salty⊠worst combo ever. Lemons were cut from yesterday and yuca was the only thing soft there.
The pineapple they serve Piña Colada in looks old and reused, thatâs pretty gross and risky.
This place is closing soon⊠UNLESS THEY CHANGE EVERYTHING.
I wonât ever comeback! Sorry!

This place look like something out of a really bad low budget movie. They claim to have Cuban food along with Cuban flags posted everywhere However, the Cuban food that they claim to have like the Cuban sandwich was such a poor rendition. Iâm ashamed to have even ordered. I asked for croquetas and was Brought a plate of six chicken filled overcooked croquetas I went in the middle of the afternoon and the place smelled like smoke and hookah. Who wants to have an indoor lunch with hookah smoke blowing in your face? Not me! The food was exceptionally horrible Starting with the Cuban sandwich, which had a rock like piece of bone quarter size inside the Cuban sandwich with cucumbers and American processed cheese they really did miss the mark with this one The milkshake was a water shake tbh all in all for someone that was expecting some type of Cuban influence or food I was highly disappointed. What a shame.

They play awesome music! 90âs & 2000âs r&b. Went on a Friday night with a coworker. Its too loud to have a conversation we didnât realize. The hookah is ok. The food is average. This is a good spot to go if youâre looking to turn up. Itâs byob.

Brought my son to enjoy outside atmosphere and Sunday lunch. Was told the server didnât come in for their shift, the outside patio was dirty, but I figured it was from the breeze. Didnât get what I ordered when my son ordered beef and was given chicken, had to wait for my order to be completed (ordered hummus and had to wait for almost 15 minutes, long after I had received our food) and now met with automatic gratuity charge and a credit card charge. First and last visit. Go anywhere else. We were practically being rushed to leave after payment was submitted. SMH

Food was not good, had to pay $20 for my own bottle of wine when byob use to be $5! Had to pay $10 to get in then pay gratuity on some poor service. Music was good but too loud, had to scream just to have a conversation. This was so nothing the experience I was use to. Sad to say but, this is NOTHING like the original and I wonât be back!

Nothing like the original cafe mawal. They charge you to get in, itâs more per person for byob, the music was so loud like a club and you have to talk over people. The waitress was cool but didnât stick around long enough to take full order. The vibe was not relaxing at all. Just nothing like what was expected. The music selection was great; however, the hookah was not as smooth as the previous hookah lounge use to be. After a good five puffsâŠ. I felt like I was about to lose a lung!

Decided to come here but have not been in a while (over a year). It has changed sadly. It's BYOB & they never use to charge you to get in. Then after you pay, they tell you it's limited seating. Then you have to pay your alcohol fee BEFORE they give you ice & cups. Took over 30 mins to bring out hookah. Manager claims he will take care of it but did not. & then said if I come back next time.
Paying $25 to drink your own liquor is wild to me. Wings were good though. Suggest going there before they start to charge.

The food was good but the experience/service was disappointing. My appetizer+entrees all came out late at the same time. The waitress was quick to leave and wouldn't check up on us. My entree ended up not having the tzatziki sauce that was supposed to be on the wrap
No problem I'll just ask the waitress for a side of it when she comes back. After a long period of time she comes back to our table TO COME BRING THE CHECK not to check what we need. I ask her for some sauce, and she replies saying they don't have any ATM but they have ranch. I tell her my wrap doesn't have tzatziki sauce on it, and if we can get it taken off the check (I literally only took one bite of it bc I wasn't going to eat it without sauce it had no flavor). Then she argued with me saying it did have the sauce. I had the wrap spread out open and showed her there was no sauce. She gives me attitude and brings back 2 containers FULL OF RANCH (I tasted it). When I called her out on it she just looked at me like a deer in headlights. She ended up taking the wrap off the check after. I was a server before so I understand how stressful it could be, but this was just ridiculous. Automatic gratuity is added so just keep that in mind before you come here. Also never got any refills on our drinks.
