Best place in near Northside. I've been coming here ever since I was about 12, with my father. 3 generations have kept us with all we need.

I usually enjoy hitting up this hardware store rather than a big box company. Dusty shelves, but I can usually walk away with what I needed. The staff can be a little pushy. There is one guy that follows you through the aisle and repeats where things are. Either walk me to it or say where i can find it. Its strange to half help. Today- I didn't realize they closed within 15 minutes of arriving, but the guy hounded us to hurry and get what we came for because they were closing early. First, I get it. You want to be out on time. Just consider the experience you created for someone that was ALREADY going to just grab what they came for and go. Second, it's a little tacky to have the staff hanging around the front with their purses talking about not being able to wait to get out of there, can we leave early. We're just checking out, not trying to delay your shift.

Closes at 6 however they are ready to lock the doors 10 minutes before. Why does anyone need hardware??? For emergencies?? They could care less if it’s close to closing time. Waste of time making it there on time

Excellent service. The difference between this place and Lowe’s or Home Depot: at those places, you have to search for someone to help you. Then they don’t have an answer for you. At Stokes, when you get there, they ask you what you need. Then, they show you where it is.

This is a well stocked cool little hardware store in the neighborhood. This people are kind and always ready to help you find what you need. I have been here several times and they always have what I need with low and reasonable prices.

Great and helpful. Definitely a neighborhood treasure and necessity! Many of the homes in and around the Heights, Kashmere Gardens, Garden Oaks and downtown areas have historic homes and you can find many items you can’t find at the chain stores.
