The experiences I’ve had here are priceless. There is something for everyone and the Venerables are thoughtful, intelligent and kind. The English Dharma Group is excellent!

This place is peaceful, quiet, serene, and ideal for meditation and contemplation. It is a traditional Oriental style sightseeing place for tourists. The English Dharma classes on Sunday mornings serve newcomers as well as veteran scholars and meditation practitioners. They also have a nature-theme branch retreat center in Hempstead, Texas. Staff at Jade Emerald Buddha temple are polite and friendly and welcome visitors. You can find out more on their website.

It is a peaceful place most of the time when there is no events from 10-12 on Sundays. The service was nice and the atmosphere was peaceful. Outside looks so natural that you might forget your in the middle of the city!

More than thirty years ago, I joined the Temple. The people associated with the Temple inspired me greatly. For more than ten years, I was grateful to be a member of this Temple, kept learning the essential teachings from Masters, exploded with my peers, served others heartily, and loved myself dearly. I moved back to Taiwan in 2000, but I came to the Temple whenever I visited Houston. Jade Buddha Temple is my spiritual home.

If you can’t leave home in this life, you can first cultivate the mind of renunciation. Then you must practice Taoism with ?️The old master followed him and Amitabha

The Master is very caring. During the epidemic, he will still take care of his members. The environment is very good. The Buddhist teachings are explained in simple and profound terms, which can make people change and progress.

I have learnt a lot by attending their Sunday activities. There are two sessions, one in the Kuan Yim Hall at the back for English speakers and one in the grand hall for Chinese speakers. Meditation starts at 9:00 am every Sunday and lectures and sharing/discussion start at 10:15 in the Kuan Yim Hall. I really like this format.
We have vegetarian lunch at 11:30. There are beginners as well as people who have practiced Buddhism for a long time. I learn from all of them and I cherish the opportunities to have teachings from experienced Buddhist monks and nuns. I am grateful that I can join such a group to enrich my spiritual life as well as my daily life. I find myself more focused and more efficient in taking tasks. My life become more organized and meaningful.
They usually post videos of classes on Facebook and Youtube. You can use the link on their web page to view those videos.
