Let's just say I was hoping the room was in better condition for the price of one night.

Excellent location, excellent restaurant service inside, good service in the restaurant inside. It's a shame they didn't deliver my order on the last day of the stay... everything went down the drain... reception received an order and simply didn't bother to show me where it was... I returned to my country without my order purchased on Amazon ?

Excellent hotel, helpful employees, what more could we ask for, very central location, with several venues for events... very complete.

I’m so excited to share my experience at The Whitehall. Checkin was smooth. I was extremely satisfied that I extended my stay. The location was perfect and in proximity of great restaurants, banking and pharmacy. The staff is amazing , southern hospitality is real. I was greeted daily by name and there was convention held at the same time so I felt even special. Jose at the restaurant on 2nd floor made delicious margarita for me and my guest. I would recommend staying at The Whitehall.

There are many nice hotels downtown. I have made deliveries in this hotel several time's and have always been curious of what it looked like for the past 40 years. I can definitely say this place is a must stay. Very elegant. Hopefully in the future if I save enough money I would definitely choose this hotel for at least one night stay. A true Houston landmark.

This experience was horrible. The staff at the front desk was not very friendly. We waited about 15 minutes for an elevator as there are only two elevators and they are extremely slow. There was also a huge convention group all trying to take the elevators at the same time- but that is not the fault of the hotel so I don’t blame them for that. What was really horrible is we got to our room and it didn’t look anything like what was advertised. It was really small and musty. The bathroom was similar to the size of a cruise ship bathroom. The toilet had BROWN water in it. We thought maybe it was leftover feces or something from the guest before and just hadn’t been cleaned which is absolutely disgusting. But when we flushed it, the bowl refilled with brown water. I then ran the sink and the water in the glass was also brown. When we went back downstairs to speak with the front desk, the manager was rude and said “we had to shut off our water line today so that’s why the water is brown. If you flush the toilet three times, it will run clear again and I can send a housekeeper to come flush your toilet for you (in a sarcastic tone)”. If this was the case you’d think they would say something at check in along the lines of “we had some issues today with our water so don’t be alarmed if the water is brown- just let it run for a while.” I can’t believe this is a “higher end” 4 star hotel. I think a holiday inn is much cleaner and nicer than this one. Would never return or never recommend to anyone.

I am giving 2 stars based on accommodations only because John at the front desk was 10/10 and the valet was great. Maybe this hotel was charming a few years ago but it leaves a lot to be desired now. Rundown. Chipping paint. Old carpet, some stained. Small basic room. Comfy bed. Very small bathroom. Stained blinds. Very loud. Warm even though cool outside - wouldn't cool down at all. We won't be back unfortunately - we left right when we woke up. Other than the staff this hotel is a total miss and mess. You can get much better accommodation for the same price.Rooms: The room was small and very rundown feeling. Chipped walls and floor, etc. dirty stained blinds - left a lot to be desired.

Was so excited for our stay here based on the reviews, but was unfortunately very disappointed. We stayed in an Executive King Suite. The rooms are small, musty and didn’t seem very clean. The bathroom is tiny without very much light or counter space to do make-up/get ready in. The A/C started leaking loudly in the middle of the night onto the hardwood floor. Valet is required & costs $40/night. Just the worst experience for a 4-star hotel, it definitely does not deserve this rating. The location is great, it’s near everything. But there are much better hotels to stay at in the area. Hopefully someone sees this review & doesn’t make the same mistake as me and goes somewhere else instead.

Very nice Hotel. Nelli at the front desk allowed me to do a late checkout, because my flight was later in the day. Great customer service.

The hotel is very clean and appealing. Ours room was a tad smaller then expected but the furniture made it seem roomy. Very well planned. Valet is $40/night. Beekman 1802 products in the restroom vanity. We were on the 7th floor and you could hear the emergency service vehicles outside pretty clear. Hallway noise was minimal coming through the door. I asked for an extended checkout but the night clerk threw it to the day clerk. Bed was comfy

Rooms: Underwhelmed by room size and quality - seemed old for an upscale hotel in the heart of the business district.
