Hours: Uptown Washateria is a huge, clean, and affordable place to wash clothes in Spring Branch. It has great washers and dryers that actually work, with machines that are clean and in good working order. The dryers dry super fast, and laundry comes out super clean. The lady behind the counter is very nice, kind, knowledgeable, and works very hard to keep the place clean. She has been there for the last 15 years and appears to do other peoples' laundry as well. The change machines work, and several wall-mounted money exchange machines exchange bills for quarters. Roller baskets with a cross bar for coat hangers and large tables for folding laundry are available. A TV is located in one corner, usually kept on the weather channel, and several game arcades are there. The customer base is quiet and polite, and despite a decent customer base, there is always a machine available. The washateria is open on New Year's Eve and is very popular and busy at times. It shares a strip center with Chavez Mexican Restaurant and a noodle restaurant.
