The Waugh Drive Bat Colony offers a fun and free experience under the bridge. It is an incredible and cool spectacle, especially for out-of-town visitors. The bats fly out in a captivating, mesmerizing tornado right at dusk, which is amazing and beautiful to watch. A knowledgeable Bat Tour Speaker can enhance the visit. Parking is extremely limited nearby, so it is advised to arrive early or park a few blocks away, as towing is common. Seeing the hundreds of thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats is a majestic and highly recommended sight to see at least once.
Took about 30 minutes after sunset and then it looked like Batman Forever for about 10 minutes. Was definitely worth the wait.

So cool for a out of town visitor. Nature is truly majestic !! Bats are a little scary..... But being able to see them all flying was beautiful.

My friends told me to see the bats under the Waugh Street bridge. It was an incredible experience! The way the bats fly out right after sunset is amazing! I went a few times after my first visit. Highly recommend
