My employer's payroll account is at Prosperity Bank. Not having a checking or savings account of my own I took my payroll cheque there and was bluntly informed as a "non-customer" of the bank there would be a fee, a significant one, to cash my cheque! Forget the fact my cheque was drawn on their bank, both the teller and officer on duty that day said I would have to pay their "non-customer" fee. They were adamant and refused to waive the fee. Non-negotiable, end of discussion. This is how the bank treats non-customers. Small wonder they call it "Prosperity" bank. I wish Yelp would award zero stars. This group deserves it. For non-customers, avoid it like the plague.
