Placed an order in March 2025, only part of the order arrived, no email to tell me the rest of the order was out of stock. Called customer service four times for a refund, to date, no refund just half cocked promises that the refund will be made, but five calls later no refund. No refund, no future orders from me, you Michaels are pathetic thieves.

My experience at this Micheals in Nottingham, MD was very disrespectful, disappointing, disgusting, and just down right wrong! It is Sunday and also Father’s Day. My husband, myself and our 3 year old son were out door dashing to make some extra cash since the weekends seem to be the time to do that. We received a DoorDash for this Micheals. My husband walks in the store and everyone who worked there at the front looks at him with an awkward stare. That upset me already because as a black man he should be able to walk into a store without being judged. The min we walk the aisles looking for the items we need to scan for the customer, on the walkie talkie that the workers are wearing they describe my husband and tell each other to watch him!! First of all we are in a craft store and second of all the audacity of those employees. That was not only rude but uncalled for. I was extremely upset but my husband told me to let it go because he didn’t want to cause a scene. Then we get the front to check out and buy balloon per our customer order and NO ONE wanted to help us or check us out. That started to upset me more and again my upset said it’s okay don’t make a big deal. Finally a lady comes over with an attitude I might add and was just beyond rude to my husband I had enough and canceled the DoorDash. This Micheals gave us the lost racist experience and my husband wasn’t doing anything but working like you.

They think they will get Joann's customers for fabrics. Think again. Michaels is a rip off store.

Never has this yarn in stock in the color of off white. Multiple times been to store to pick some up and found one skein Called store manager and she actually ordered some and I was able to pick it up but it is such a disappointment at this location in Lubbock Tx on Slide Road with frequent staff not wanting to help and an attitude of not wanting to be bothered with checking to see if it’s been ordered or will they order it. Poor poor poor customer service and poor management that will not stock more than 2 or 3 skeins of yarn and NEVER has one on the rack for anyone to buy although the space is there and labeled for the stock.

Please inform all Michael’s store associates that self checkout is NOT mandatory. I do not work for Michael’s. I shop at Michael’s. I don’t want to have an issue every time I check out. If the associate has time to “train me” on your machine, they have time to check me out. I DO NOT WANT A JOB AT MICHAELS. Don’t use me to save on your labor costs!!!!

The Michaels corporate office doesn’t pay attention to individual stores’ and customers’ needs. I wanted to purchase a specific 5 x7 double frame that was on sale (buy one get one half off). There was only one in the Kingsport store. I checked multiple times to see if another frame had come in, because stores don’t have control over the merchandise they receive and therefore can’t provide an arrival date. By the time a second frame was put on the shelf, the sale was over. Weeks later, still 2 frames but no sale. I checked today for photo sleeves. The Johnson City store has several in stock and on sale, but the Kingsport store has zero. No matter how many times I reset “my store” to Kingsport, it reverts to JC. I don’t want to shop at JC! Why doesn’t the Michaels corporate office pay attention to the needs of all stores? Surely it’s possible to check stock online. I’ll be shopping at other craft stores if Michaels headquarters doesn’t step up!

Oh Michael's!! Your CC is the worst. No, I don't want you to FAX me anything. Seriously?? I closed the account last summer and somehow it's open again. I have a letter confirming its closure, too.

I would like to speak about Eddie at the Kendall gate shopping center at 12010 SW 88th Street in Miami Florida. 2 years ago my best friend, mentor, mother figure, friend and part of my soul was murdered in a murder-suicide by her husband on her birthday. May 15th. It has taken a long time for me to be able to say these words to anyone. I went into Michaels not really knowing how I want to celebrate her, that changed when I ran into Eddie. I explained that I had not really done this before and he began, "Well let's take a look". He was patient, kind, professional, humorous and just what I needed. The world could use a few more Eddies. I simply could not let this go without making mention. I am not very artistic when it comes to crafts, but I will definitely make my way to that Michaels location whenever I go to the DSW next door. Go see Eddie at Michaels. Tell him that the lady with the balloons for the Mausoleum sent you. He is worth the trip.

While the corporate office staff was responsive, the local store I called about has completely turned me away (Sparks, NV). Terrible service and rude staff. I hate Hobby Lobby's business practices, but there are other craft supply stores online. Michael's has lost my business, but I seriously doubt they care.

I've shopped at Michael's in Belleville, Ontario for many years. Recently I visited Michael's and learned that the regular checkout area was turned into self checkouts exclusively with no other option for payment. I explained that I don't use self checkouts and was told that was the only way to pay now. Trying to force people to use self checkouts is just wrong and a good way to go out of business fast. I left the store, left my cart and unpaid items behind and I won't be back.

Ok so, I visited the a Houston store February 16th, (in a plaza across from Torchys Tacos) afternoon for the first time to get a paint-by-number kit. Unfortunately, there was no greeting when I entered. Despite my excitement, I noticed an older white man with gray hair following me, and other associates in my aisle seemed to be pretending to stock shelves. As I took my time exploring and budgeting, I saw a sale sign. The main associate following me assured me that all items were on sale, but later I discovered it was only buy one get one 50% off for ARTIST LOFT brand items. Despite the confusion, I happily shopped and picked up four paint by number kits within that brand with other stuff with in the brand on sale. However, the constant surveillance continued, and even my 4-year-old guest noticed. At the checkout, the cashier lacked enthusiasm and customer service skills. When I inquired about the prices, she insisted they were all regular priced, but after paging the associate from the floor, the confusion escalated. The associate that was following us come upfront, confirmed that many items were on sale, but at the checkout, he claimed only the brushes I had were on the "sale list." This discrepancy, coupled with the unwelcoming experience, led me to leave everything and exit the store, frustrated is an understatement. The kid was heartbroken! To avoid discrimination and create a friendlier environment, diversity and inclusive training are crucial for this whole staff. My initial experience with Michael's was a nightmare, and I won't be returning. From these other reviews it seems Michael's needs a whole new crews!

I haven't been overly impressed with the Michaels in Flemington NJ location. There appears to be a LP person always following people. It makes for an unpleasant shopping experience. I left each time when I saw this. In the past year I spent less money and time in the stores because of this.
