“I found a few good deals. Not as many as I usually find. I haven't been for a few months. Whenever I go to Ollie's I would usually stock up on cereal because it's very affordable there but they didn't have much selection and it wasn't affordable what they did have.
Anytime I get out that way include/Lake Jackson I always stop at Ollie's. You can find good bargains and they have sales & sale papers get sent to your email.”
“My husband and I bought a patio furniture set at the Lake Jackson Big Lots store. The store mgr John actually was the person who helped us and he was great! The next day after we started assembling the pieces we ran into a problem. Luckily, when I called the store I spoke to the furniture department manager William who was so nice and helpful. I was able to run to the store and retrieve what we needed to complete the assembly. Thank you so much William, you and the other employees are the reason we continue to shop at Big Lots in Lake Jackson, Tx.”
“We stop by here on a regular basis. They have a great selection of EVERYTHING you need for pets, and home needs. Prices are competitive, the staff is so friendly. Definitely a great place for Brazoria residents.”
“This store is MUCH better than the store in Clute, Texas on Hwy 288B. That store just needs shut down, cleaning, restoration and stocking. I drive about 3 miles to Dollar general. The bad one is just a few blocks from where I live.”
“We have 2 Dollar stores in Freeport, luckily. The older store does have a long line at times i.e.after school lets out but the staff is on top of security for sure. Most of the staff is courteous, well informed in product layout and polite if not overly friendly. They're constantly stocking their shelves and the store has undergone a facelift. The older store seriously needs a larger building as I bet it probably has more customers only due to the location. Their prices have been raised but what stores haven't due to current economy. They're open on time M-S 8:00-10:00. There's plenty of parking. They offer a variety of name brand & store brand products from wine to batteries to craft supplies. My first choice for the items we need every other day or items missed while restocking the kitchen on a large scale.”
“Dollar general is my
"Go To" for many items. They do not have everything I need but they have many of the items I use on a regular basis. I buy all of my food keepers here (then I go home and store all kinds of stuff in them). Can't beat the prices on those, or on big plastic tote containers. One of the things I really like is their little food/grocery section where you can grab fresh produce like bananas, tomatoes, packaged salad, quick microwavable individual meals, pizza, ice cream, deserts, drinks of all kinds, etc. Really handy when you need a few items and you're in a hurry. Some cashiers at some of the stores seem to be on a different time line because they are a bit slow when you need help, just kind of slow in general. I usually associate that with employee dissatisfaction. If their employees were more enthusiastic about their jobs, we would all benefit!
But regardless, I'm hooked!”

“I love coming here when I have time & money. Heavy on both because you're going to be awhile as their inventory is huge and be prepared to spend quite a bit because theres so many good gently used items. Plenty of clothing but I also like looking through the books and dishes. I've found so many pieces of depression era glassware that I love. The store was as clean as could be with 50 people milling about and the dressing rooms were in pretty good condition. I've visited major dept stores where the dressing rooms looked a lot worse. The people who worked and volunteered there were polite and helpful. The amazing thing to me is how well they keep it organized with that amount of clothing. Yes, by color as far as tops/tees go but at least it's a start. The "day of the week" are super beneficial too.”
“I previously only gave my local Dollar General 3 stars but after visiting there yesterday, I am revising that to 5 star. The store looked great, and I was really impressed. No stock blocking the aisles. Well stocked. I commented to two employees, who were both friendly. Glad to see it!”
