Karina at the south killeen location is so sweet! She made it such a pleasure to speak with and was able to help me get a new bank card, deposit $, and update my address. I appreciate Karina’s patience, knowledge, and amazing customer service! It’s no wonder Vera has made it 95 years! I love my bank!

Thursday, August 31, 2023I opened a checking account at this location after a poor customer service experience at the Harker Heights VeraBank location. Due to friendly, positive energy, and professional customer service I decided to open a checking account here. This would serve my needs to have another bank in areas where I work and my family in Bell County and home in Williamson County.I made two deposits and two transactions that day.Friday, September 1,I received a PayPal from my partner in the afternoon. I was going to use this money to pay a bill that day. My bill use an app called Stake to transfer to pay a bill. Once my PayPAL came through I sent a request to transfer my bill money from the Stake app that is linked with VeraBank so my bill is paid. I called the bank to let them know it was pending.I received a phone call from a male at VeraBank that my account is frozen due to recent activities at their bank of PayPal scams. However, I use PayPal all the time and only changed the link to this bank, because I can make transactions in the area faster. However, that was not the case. My money in the bank was frozen and I could not get my PayPAL or NONE of my money out I deposited to pay my bill.I called VeraBank again at this location and told them I have to pay a bill that day. The same male stated the bank automatically did that and I need to wait to Tuesday. Here is the question. I just opened an account the day before, why is my account frozen and I can't get MY money out? He did called the place with my bill after I giving him the number to tell them my account is frozen. He also told me I could get my money back THAT DAY I deposited back. He said my account should be cleared on Tuesday, September 5. I was not happy about this, but at least I could get my deposit back so I thought.Saturday, September 2, 2023:However, on Saturday September 2 The ITM and ITM Manager that was serving the Round Rock location informed that a "Jovanni Acosta" at Verabank in Killeen put a note on my account and that I am NOT ALLOW to withdraw any money. This is contradictory since HE told me I could get my deposit back. In addition, I was made aware that the Killeen location FROZE my checking account, CHANGED the status where I CAN ONLY put cash in and not withdraw out, but have credit that I received NO NOTIFICATION ABOUT. I found this information out from the ITM Manager Supervisor on the phone in customer service, and I WAS NOT going to get my deposit back I just put in on Thursday, August 31 or my PayPAL due to a PAYPAL that was sent to me by my partner to pay a bill on Friday, September 1 in the afternoon.I was appreciative of the ITM Manager who had to submit a request on my behalf for me regarding my account to lift the sanctions that was on my account without my knowledge. I also made a complaint about this experience. After talking to him I FINALLY received an email from an Ivon an ITM Manager that I was able to get my deposit back, but I have to go to Harker Heights and I live in Round Rock. So I rushed on the highway at 10:35am in traffic due to Labor Day weekend to get MY money, but THEY are STILL holding my PAYPAL that was sent to me by my partner.As a result of THIS experience at Vera Bank, I was not able to pay my bill due Friday, SEPTEMBER 1st because they are holding my PayPal and froze my account.I NEVER saw a banking institution like this in my life: QUESTIONABLE Banking service.Once I get my PAYPAL that was sent to me on Friday, September, I am CLOSING this account. This experience happened within 2 1/2 days after opening the account. As of right now, I have my deposit back, but I had to call customer service several times and talk to their supervisors. This took from after 8:00am to 10:45am and a hour drive (got there at 11:30am) on the phone on a Saturday to get MY money. At this time, I'm still waiting to get my PAYPAL so I can pay my bill. I PRAY no one ever have an experience like this. Respectfully.

O I gosh, where can I begin? I guess from 2016 when I first moved to Killeen and needed a new bank. We loved from day one THE PERSONAL ATTENTION they gave us and gave us insight into just the right choices for us. Friendly and professional, they have always given us just the right option.
