Scheduled pick up at 12:30 . Showed up at 12:35 and would not let me pick up. People had left. I called before hand and let them know I would be five minutes behind and they could care less. Worst customer service I have encountered.

Made a reservation online for a box truck today...I live in New Braunfels, so I had to get an Uber to bring me...Before I got the Uber, I tried calling 4 or 5 times just to make sure there weren't going to be any problems, but they never answered...I had to proceed and head there, because I needed to get on the road and deliver materials...Once I got there, I was informed they weren't going to honor my reservation...He said it was last minute, and they didn't have to honor it...No apologies, or any other assistance from him...I wasted an Uber trip there and the rest of my afternoon trying to find something else...If the system is broken...fix it! If there aren't any trucks available, don't let people rent them...Very unprofessional behavior for a business. I understand things can happen, but at least show some kind of support to your customers...Definitely won't try this place again

If you want the worst customer service this is your place. My friend is moving states and rented a truck from this location. We work different shifts so she called and asked if we could come in at different times so I could be a driver. They said yes on the phone. So she gets there this morning to get the truck. She has copies of all my stuff so they could add my information. That way after work I could go in and give the hard copies. She gets there and they said unless I was there when she rents the truck I can't be a driver. I even went in after work to see if I could get added. Called the national customer service number and they said it is completely up to the one we rented from to add me. If they don't want to do it they can't add me. So because the one store does not want to have customer service we are stuck with a truck with one driver and a 16 hour drive. National customer service said that it is completely up to the place we rented from. So stay away and do not go to this store.

I have rented trucks and cars at this location before and rarely had an issue. Today however, I rented a moving truck and Kyle who I've always dealt with said he would not acknowledge my reservation because he did not see it on his handwritren paperwork. I told him I had the reservation email and he said sorry doesn't matter there's nothing I can do. Very disappointed and frustrated that having a reservation email doesn't matter if it's not on a handwritten note.

Wish I could give this zero stars. The people are so rude and do not try to help you or work with you at all. I told them I called the customer service line when no one picked up the phone and they said "well they work overseas they don't even work in America so they're not authorized to promise you anything."

Thanks for all the reviews. I was gonna call to rent a truck here but not anymore. Sounds like not even the manger cares about customer service

Horrible customer service. We left a tarp in back of truck and my card was charged $20 for a clean up fee. It clearly took 1 minute to remove. This is the down side of having a card on file. They add fees and there’s not much you can do about it. Never again!

This review is for the Budget Rental Agency in general, not necessarily the local office. I rented a car out of the Boston-Logan center. I was charged nearly double than the "estimated charges" and when I called I was on hold for over 50 minutes only to be hung up on when the line rang. Then called a different number and got a person who wouldn't help but did give me another number to call. It was the same recording as the first time and I spent another 20 minutes waiting. I'm disputing the charges because they won't answer their phones! Also, I specifically said I would refill the gas tank which I did and have the receipts to prove it. They charged me for gas refill as well as flood and water damage which I was never asked about. Such a scam! Never ever rent from Budget! They should call themselves Rip-off Rental!

I had an extremely unpleasant interaction with the manager at the Kyle, TX location today. My vehicle was stolen from my driveway in the middle of the night on Tuesday. It's been a long couple of days dealing with the police, insurance company, and my banks regarding cards that were in my truck. It's been difficult getting a rental vehicle sooner rather than later and with the contracted rental company, the earliest I am able to get into a vehicle is Sunday the 6th. They let me know that I could rent from another company and be reimbursed. I decided to take that route. I found that I would be able to pick up a rental from Budget in Kyle, TX today. I made my reservation online for a Toyota Tacoma, or similar using my Visa. I arranged a ride from my house to arrive promptly at the Budget Rental location in Kyle, TX at 1:30 PM. When I arrived, I approached the counter and then a gentleman met me there. This was the manager and apparent only staff member on duty. I did not get his name. I let him know I was there to pick up. He asked for my last name. I gave him this. He asked for my Driver's License. I gave him this, along with my Visa debit card that I used to make the reservation online. He let me know that I could not pay with my Visa and that I had to use a major credit card instead. I let him know that I did not have a major credit card on me because it was in the vehicle that was stolen. I then remembered that I had my American Express card (the one that was in my stolen truck) in my Apple Pay, and a photo of it as well. I began to look for access to these on my phone. When I presented the photo, the manager behind the counter said that he had to use a card that he could physically swipe. I let him know that I did not have a credit card he could swipe because it was in my vehicle that was stolen. He then said that he could not help me - that if I didn't have a credit card that he could swipe, he would not be able to rent anything out to me. I was furious. I was just dropped off an hour away from home after making an online reservation with my Visa and now this Budget Rental Manager is telling me he can't do anything about it. I left the building, quickly called the 800 number for Budget Customer Service and explained the situation to them. They let me know that I could rent a vehicle with my Visa debit card as long as it wasn't the truck I made the reservation for. The gentleman over the phone made me another reservation for a standard size car instead of a truck. Before I hung up the phone, I made sure that I had a clear understanding - that as long as I rented this standard size car, I would be able to pay with my Visa. They assured me of this. The information that the Customer Service representative disclosed to me over the phone was NOT disclosed to me by the manager at Budget. He told me that he could not rent anything to me unless I had a major credit that he could physically swipe. I then went back into the building and let the manager know that I had a new reservation for a standard size car and that the Customer Service Rep over the phone assured me that I could use my Visa to pay for it. He concurred and followed with, "as long as you have a physical document like an electric bill that has your residential address that matches the address on your Driver's License." The way he delivered this information was so very, unnecessarily condescending. I let him know that I did not have a physical document with me. He then, again, refused to rent to me. This man's unwillingness to work with me was infuriating. At this point, without already knowing he was the MOD, I asked to speak with his manager. He said was the manager and said, "See, it says it there on my business card." Yet another condescending response from a person who clearly does not care. I then asked to speak with his boss. He then pulled out his personal cell phone and called his boss, Jodi. He relayed the situation to her and then handed the phone to me. I went over my situation with her over

I wish I could rate this company 0 stars. Read your contact carefully and you won't be as surprised by the multitude of hidden fees. Be prepared to shell out a couple hundred extra dollars, and whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for the coverage packages. I hope someone reads this and it prevents them from getting scammed.

Ok let me start with first time renting a car from them and probably the last should have paid attention to the reviews they definitely bait and switch you when you pre pay for the vehicle that should include a deposit not require you to pay more money when you get there they ran our credit numerous times they were rude as hell It is so worth paying the extra money and going to enterprise never again

WARNING: This place will give you a reservation confirmation number and actually not have any cars when you arrive. I would avoid at all costs.

This budget is a joke and not worth renting from ever. I did a reservation for noon and went to the location a little early. I was advised that no trucks were available prior and to come back at my reservation time of noon. So I came back at noon and the same trucks were sitting there. Next, the guy questioned me if I had insurance and acted like if I didn't get there insurance and road side assistance that I could not get the truck. I purchased both so I can get on my way to move over 13 hrs away. The truck I got was dirty, dented and had cigarette butts in the ash tray. Again the guy said this was the only truck available. He also advised me that the tires were good. I loaded the truck and started my journey. Within 3 hours of driving, I noticed the back of the truck was swerving from side to side. I pulled over and noticed that the tires were starting to peel and metal was showing. I contacted road side assistance and told me there was a 5 to 6 hour wait. I explained that the tires were bad and look liked retreads. I felt like I was swindled to getting a bad truck and advised the road side rep that I was given this bad truck. I was advised to drive a little further to save on the time to get service done. I drove halfway and the contractor met me at the hotel. The contractor told me that the 1 tire was new and 3 tires were bad and retreads. He took pictures as well as I did. He said this truck should of had all new tires and never been rented due to a accident waiting to happen at any time. I called customer service once I got to the drop off location. A claim was filed due to the bad tires and I wanted reimbursed for insurance and roadside due to a bait and switch by this Budget location. I was advised to wait 7 business days for a decision. I called back on the 8th business due to no response and was advised that it wasn't my fault. I said so what's the out come of my reimbursement and he said $95 dollars. I asked to speak to a manager and tried to give me a hard time to speak to one. I finally got one and got 25% of the cost reimbursed to me. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAST YOUR TIME GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK FOR BAD SERVICE AND BUSINESS PRACTICES.
